I heard that one tip of drawing something was to build it in minecraft, take a picture and sketch on top of it in an art thing, and then try drawing from there.

Haven't tried it but sounds interesting

Probably better off just learning 3d, Blender is free and you would have waaaaaay more opportunity to build out what you really want
