Please fullview I really enjoyed working on this one, but man was it a lot of work! I have the tendency to get absorbed into my work, and often end up spending exorbitant amounts of time on them, and this was definitely no exception. I spent a lot of time carefully cleaning things up and softening edges. And I think I tried about 18 trillion different color combinations, but this is the one that stuck.
This was a bit of a departure for me as I usually do more portraits than scenes, but I had a very specific image in my mind before I started working on this one, and it just wouldn't work without the background. The background is a manipulated version of a stock photo from stock.xchange. You can find it here: [link]
I really spent a lot of time on this one, and I think it paid off. I hope you all like it! Let me know what you think!

Nice image.
Looks a lot like some 80ยดs Sci-fi illustrations.
Liked the model movement and the composition also. the light in the model matches very well the background.

Yeah I worked for quite a while on the lighting. That was done almost entirely in post. In the original render, the lighting was straight black and white, the skin tone was much more of a normal pinkish color and the clothing was all just a flat brown color. I think over the course of this, I probably used about 50 layers of flat color, gradated color, and saturation. I also made use of ample amounts of gradient mapping to get all the colors just the way I wanted them. The stock background image originally had a bright blue sky and the barley was a yellowish brown (as you can see in the link that I gave in the description). Gradient mapping is a great way to pull all the colors in an image together and into a much more homogeneous whole. It's probably my favorite Photoshop tool

I saw this on Poser Addicts and it really grabbed my attention. It is really beautiful! I can really see this beautiful female warrior running though a field. V3 with See No Evil armor?

It's actually V4 converted to V3 (so that the clothes would fit properly) and a combination of Aery Soul's Hanyma and Eclipse clothing. And then tons of postwork to change their colors and the colors of the background and then a lot of manual cleaning of pixels and such.
