Meet Deimos. His appearance keeps changing. He's got a backstory, which I will save for when I'm really bored.

Deimos is a Hellhund. What's a Hellhund? It's like a Hellhound, only it's missing an "o". Hah. Ok, in all seriousness, technically only two of them exist, or have ever existed in our realm. That is not to say more cannot be created, just, only two full blooded Hellhunds are know to have touched down on Terronta. Terronta is is kind of like Earth.

You following me so far? Excellent.
They came from Phates, and it is unknown whether that's a place, or a really cool personthing that makes stuff, all we know is that most mystical/magical abilities originated from "Phates" and it cannot normally be felt/seen in our realm. Dragons? Once upon a time, some dragon-like ancestors came from "Phates", defected, and started their own race.

Why do these things come from "Phates"?
That all depends. The two Hellhund's in question came to ying the dragon's yang. That sounded a whole lot more sexual than I had intended.

The come as sort of Enforcers. Cosmic Cops. Keepers of the peace... only these guys sucked at it and these two failed. Most other "Phaters" (not the technical term...yet) come, accomplish their mission and go back to Phates happy clappy coppers, and get a promotion.

The pair of Hellhund's did not. This is Deimos. The Diabolical. Not pictured? His brother, Phobos. (coming soon) The Heartless Romantic.

Deimos is an illusionist, an artist, a master psychic, and the mastermind of the duo.
Phobos is the champion, the atypical good-at-everything guy who is also a master psychic, choosing psychokinesis and mild clairvoyence over the subtlies of illusions.

The come to Terronta with the intention of wiping out a family of humans that the Dragons had emboldened with minute supernatural "gifts" (the dragons did so with the greatest of intentions) and in doing so accidentally unbalanced their world. Just a little, which is why the moron twins got sent to settle the score, by eradicating their mistake. No biggie.

It was kind of a "You can't possibly screw this one up, so send the rookies" mission.

Long story short, they screwed it up. Deimos defected, and Phobos was too enamoured with some mortal wolf to see his IMPENDING DOOM.
haha. lots more to the story, but the jist is, Deimos is cooler than you.
