  Chapter One: I've Missed You, Hermione...
The windows were very foggy as he stepped aboard the Hogwarts train. He was lucky no parents, or any thoughtful children saw him. 'The Chosen One' was the new defence against the dark arts teacher, and he was quite sick of all of the labels. Harry James Potter is his name, not 'The Boy Who Lived'.
Harry heard screams coming from the compartment three rows ahead. He ripped open the door and had his wand at the ready. It was a dementor. This scene was all too familiar. "Expecto Patronum!" Harry shouted, and the white whisps came out of his wand, obliterating the dementor. He didn't mean for it to be so strong, but he was thinking of when he defeated Voldemort, the day he saved the world.
    "Here," Harry told the young boy, breaking of a piece of chocolate from his bag,"take this. It helps."
        "Thank you." Said the little boy.
  Harry backed up, out of the compartment only to bump into Neville Longbottom, the new Herbology teacher.
  "Harry! I didn't know you'd be back! No one told me..." Neville trailed on, looking down at his shoes.
    "Neville, its so nice to see you, but I-" Harry started, and saw the back of someones head that was very familiar. "I'm sorry Neville, but I think I've just seen Hermione." Harry started, and watched as the wavy brown hair disappeared into a compartment. Harry walked down the compartment, looking through all of the windows. He finally saw Hermione Granger. She was sitting alone in her compartment, a revision of the History of Magic in her hands, and she was flicking through the pages.
  Harry slid open the door carefully.
"Who is-" Hermione started, but looked up from her book noticing Harry. Her face lit up, and she set her book down. Getting up to hug Harry, she almost fell as the train did a little jolt. Harry caught her around the waste, and fought back the urge he felt in his stomach, in his mind. He wanted to kiss her. Her hair, brown and wavy, made his skin shiver, the good kind of course. Her dark brown eyes made his heart beat faster.
     "Harry! I'm so glad to see you! We haven't seen you around the Burrow in quite a while." Hermione said, and stepped back, making Harry let go.
       "Me and Ginny broke up. We just weren't right for each other. She's engaged to Seamus... You know, Seamus Finnigan?" He said, and looked away. It was halfway true.
He and Ginny couldn't stand the sight of each other. And she was engaged to Seamus now.
  "Oh, how troubling... I'm sure Mrs.Weasley is under the influence you two were still together. Me and Ron had a row the other day, about me coming back to Hogwarts," Hermione started,"he didn't like the idea of me being so far away from him. That and that he was angry he didn't get the job for Transfiguration Professor."
    "Who did?" Harry asked, and he sat down across from her.
"Me. Can't you just hear it? Professor Granger, and then Professor Weasley." She said, sighing.
      "I can't believe hes being a jealous git." Harry said,"Nevermind, I can. Well, he'll come around..."
    That caused the both of them to laugh.
He missed her, he truley missed her. He wanted to spend more time with her, but his heart skipped a beat when the train came to a stop.
   "I need to be getting to my classroom Harry, but after the banquet, we can catch up." Hermione said, and smiled.
         "I've missed you, Hermione..." Harry said lowly, to himself, as he stuffed his things together into his bag and grabbed himself his own carridge thinking to himself how a dingbat like Ron could get someone like Hermione...
