It's my boy, my favorite Pokemon, Scizor!I still have the same Scizor I used during my playthrough of Pokemon Fire Red. I transfer it along with my other Pokemon into each new game. I can't enjoy playing a game unless I have Pokemon like my Scizor with me.

How nice! This further opens my eyes as to why you love Scizor so much. After reading this, though, a few questions have come to my mind.
First, what is your opinion on Mega Scizor?
Second, you said that you can only enjoy playing the games with your trusty teammate. Does not having it on your side really bring the games down that much in your regard?

And yeah I really can't enjoy playing a Pokemon unless my Scizor is on my team. Obviously it's not the game's fault! I just hate how every new game has no connection with the last. You're treated like a completely different person (duh, of course, because you are) and because of that it almost feels like you took no part in the events from the previous games. So by having that one main Pokemon always with me, that Pokemon pretty much becomes the connection with the last adventures.
Plus it's really fun collecting ribbons. They're achievements that you actually keep throughout every game, unlike gym badges that get left behind when you go on to the next game.

Oh, I completely see what you're coming from. If they ever came up with a game that let you roam every available region, without having to start over when moving, that would be amazing, to say the least.
