Yeah, sorry I keep doing Usopp, while many of you are happy, some of you are probably really tired of seeing the long nosed guy. But there was a really good thing that came about with this picture, I finally learned how to use adjustment layers and stuff in Photoshop(*DON*). My computer painting experience is vitalized! Now to just learn to get good at it like some of the people I watch. :/

So anyway, hand-drawn line art, colored in Photoshop.

It came out really well! I remembered that you already shaded the pic w/ pencil... how do you get such clean lineart?

Well, what I did was get another piece of paper, put a light under my glass coffee table, and traced just the basic details of the image, and then inked it. So I had a nice clean lineart without risking the loss of my pencil art.

I know I couldn't be able to use PhotoShop like that. 'sides, I have PaintShop (it works for me).

Sure, that's what they say...

It's really not any more difficult to use Photoshop. I have Paintshop too, but I find that it just doesn't paint as well for me.

I swear, you somehow manage to capture his fun-loving personality which seems to escape me. And kudos for tackling an important aspect of Photoshop! I think you'll find that coloring well is mostly a matter of finding ways to make it easier for yourself. :3

Aw, thank you. ^_^ I don't think I've ever seen you draw Usopp except in the background, so I don't know. He can be serious and badass too. ;D Your coloring is so rich with different tints and shades in the lighting, I haven't really tried to do that. I'll get what I'm aiming for eventually.

I'll have to work on something with Usopp as the central figure, then. That is, if I can pull myself away from playing Dragon Quest VIII...

=kuroitora is a good person to watch for examples of lighting and use of color. He normaly posts several stages of a WIP, so it's a good opportunity to learn and do as you please from there (watching him is actually how I eventually learned to use more interesting lighting situations).

Oh, thanks for the tip. His stuff is really good! That's the kind of stuff I'm looking for. Guess it wouldn't hurt to go back and take more painting classes again too.
