This was done in collaboration with 4HoovesArt !
I did the background and lines, they did the character flats and shading.
I love how this came out so much, especially all the glowy paint. This was also my first time drawing palm trees which I do not recommend.

Getting back into showing was never easy. Patricia was 35 now and hadn't shown since she was in her early 20s - It simply wasn't feasible for her at the time while working two jobs. She decided she wanted a change and booked a flight, packing just a few of her belongings and donating the rest. Patricia was just settling into the states, moving from Australia with her warmblood stallion no more than a few months ago. She hadn't been in the saddle for quite some time, things were just too busy before she had packed and moved. Now she was taking lessons at Cow Creek Equestrian center twice a week, one of which was on Andromeda, a lesson horse she had fallen in love with.

Andromeda and Patricia were doing quite well together. She had been considering leasing Meta so that she could enter shows as she pleased since Sonoren wasn't quite ready yet and this show would be the determinant. Kate helped Patricia load the stallion onto the trailer a few days before. They were well prepared for the nearly 24 hour drive, with planned stops along the route to rest and let Meta off the trailer. The group arrived just in time on the morning of the show, having slept just a few hours before departure. Patricia spent most of the morning spot cleaning the stud, braiding his mane, and cleaning their tack. Her anxiety developed as the day went on. She tried to remind herself that it was just a rail class and that tension would not help them place. To distract herself she painted a moon and some stars onto the stud, fitting for a horse named after a galaxy.

Then it was time to get on.
