Description **Upload 18: Now for a complete change in style and subject matter. Stay safe and healthy out there!**

A strange byproduct of my self quarantine and sudden windfall of spare time has been a gradual increase in the frequency of my vivid dreams. Now that my unconscious mind has been unburdened by the daily clutter of a work schedule, it seems to have taken the liberty of drifting into deeper and darker places.

Of note, I have been having a recurrent dream of deep-sea diving in the dead of night. In this dream, I arrive at an unmarked pier in a unnamed harbor. The water below is as black as sin and cold as death, but inexplicably, I choose to jump in.

Below the surface, the void presses in from all sides and seeps into every seam. The pier above me is lost in shadows, as if it never was. I am made weightless and blind, but slowly my eyes adjust to some inexplicable ambient light from the world above and I see, for the first time, the denizens of this unnatural plane.

They writhe in a benthic procession, hardly a fathom below by exposed feet. All are as pale as corpse-skin and shine with the pallor of unseen moonlight. Some are monstrous in size while others are merely monstrous in appearance. I can not say for certain if I have been noticed, but I am certain that if they desired to do me harm, my protests would have been a formality at best. Instead, these ghost-leviathans drift blindly towards some inexplicable destination, either blind or apathetic to my presence, so my awe never fully blossoms into terror.

I could never call this vision a nightmare, for it exists somewhere in a limbo between fear and fascination. I could never call it a nightmare because I know that if I were to ever stand on that lonely pier, I would choose to jump in just to see the giants again.

Best,

-H

This looks awesome! That dream sounds amazing, as slightly terrifying as it may be. You captured the feeling of it very well in the drawing!
