Real Name: Dale C. Rostand
Dale Rostand was an average guy working as a late night morgue custodian and trying to develop a relationship with a good looking dentist's secretary named Mara in the adjacent BodyShoppe Clinic when his family (a small band of nomads living just outside of Cyburg's city limits) were killed in attack by a road gang of sadistic bikers. Shortly afterwards, Mara was offered a job running the 'Net for a cable TV news group with a handsome news anchor. In order to impress Mara and keep her nearby (for fear of being alone), Dale arranged to have cybernetics surgically implanted. Legs grafts to make him taller and a pair of in-style cyber eyes. Unfortunately, all he could afford were the services of Dr. Steele, a local back alley surgeon known as a ripperdoc. The doctor was addicted to a nerve drug and severly botched the operation.

Upon waking, Dale realized what had happened to him and his mind snapped in rage at the monster he had become. He killed the ripperdoc and proceeded into the street in a psychotic rampage. He had killed a gang of 12 boosterpunks before the police subdued him. Dale, now calling himself Crash, was taken to Glenwood Asylum and recruited into the Psycho Squad.

Crash firmly believes that Dale Rostand was an individual he vaguely knew who died. He remembers nothing of his past or family but recognized Mara as someone he loved. Mara still cares for him but eventually realizes that he will never be Dale again.

Crash suffers from hallucinations, violent mood swings, and manic and often violent behavior and reactions. When he gets too out of control and becomes a danger to the genaral populace, he is sent back to Glenwood asylum for "rehabilitation". Some see this as reprogramming. Crash sees it as punishment. Only the new nurse Christine "Boo" Waters makes his stay enjoyable as they start to build a new relationship together.

Major Cyberware: Two rather outdated but sturdy Cyberlegs, a completely armored skull (Dr. Steele was only able to salvage half of the facial tissue), Two cyber eyes (the right equipped with a targeting scope which is always ON), boosted reflexes, and metal laced knuckle bones.
