Lovely image! The cold neutral tones give it a lonely feeling. The lines of the tree are beautiful, and create great negative space with the white sky. I love the long-ness of the image, great job cropping!

I love the uber deep foreground... some might say to crop it, but it really provides a great wide leading bulk that pulls your eyes right up to the tree. Very nifty!

It reminds me of the tree in the field behind my house.

Your sense of color, tone, and composition astounds me.
It's almost as if the dormant tree watches over the crops, ensuring that no matter what man destroys in his harvest for survival, nature will endure. His vigilant watch over the fields has sapped the life from him, but he still stands guard.

Love the composition here. I like the contrast between the pale sky and the dark foreground. And the tones really help set the mood. Really nice piece of work.

Absolutely gorgeous tree formation. So serene.
Couldn't you take a pic with the tree in the bottom, and the stormy sky at the top? Would be awesome. GJ !

I agree with sterling on this one. love the image, but a little more negative space up top would enhance the lonely feeling of this image. the depth of field is sweet on this, but all that mown corn is too busy for what I feel you're sending out. maybe if there was more snow on the ground...

I know that someone said maybe they'd like to see more around the tree, but I don't think that's it. I think a " symmetrical" tree would be horrible, as it defines the very depiction of nature you're showing. It's a beautiful photo...perhaps the only improvement I may think of is to employ the rule of thirds, make the foreground 1/3, the tree 1/3, and the sky above the top 1/3. I think additional white negative space would do wonders, and increase the sense of loneliness that's already portrayed pretty damn well.

Thanks alot for the feedback!
I have a version with more sky priority and Im starting to like that version more, because like you said it would give a better sense of loneliness, so I might upload that photo

The dull colours of the photo do give you the feeling of lonleiness. But I feel the idea would have been brought to life better if there was more of a larger expanse of... nothing around the tree.

I love this photo. It is very well done. I've been searching for the perfect tree to do a photo almost just like this with the tree by itself and empty of leaves. I wish that the tree was a little more symetrical, but I know how hard it is to find a tree that is shaped perfectly AND is all by itself, so I can understand why it's not. Very nice capture.
