Description FINALLY!!!
IT'S DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's all I can say
I am so happy with this. Although so much of my plans changed, I love how it came out!
No critiques please!
I'll upload a couple more pics later.

Of course, there's little things here and there I'm not satisfied with but, let's face it, I'll never be satisfied! I don't want to gripe about stupid detail I can't change right now.

HOWEVER: A nanosecond after this picture was taken, my dad realized that I forgot to color in the upper arm of his right arm (that you can barely see) with the mustard color of his uniform. Is was fixed immediately. So, he is no longer missing part of his arm irl but we were rushed and unable to get a picture with his arm intact. Haha

I'm very proud of this though
It won first in the Literary Art Contest, 2nd for Best In Show for the Showcase of Excellence (omg I was so honored!), will hang all summer in my school's gallery, and in the fall it will go into the Fall Festival of Art. Later (if I ever get it back at this point lol!) the WW1 Museum at Liberty Memorial (see here: [link] ) wants to put it in their museum! Actually, I will never own it again, sigh. I get pretty attached to my art

I can't believe all of this has happened so fast! XD

Things that changed:
The poppy stems were not made out of wire, the tissue paper poppy flowers were glued directly to the canvas and the stems were painted.
He has no backpack! Vetoed that at the last second.
The background totally changed. It's more green, less dark, not black crosshatch, more drippy.
More black dripping from the soldier (more than I intended, actually...)
Made the print bigger.
The first poppy, the one that I wanted emphasis on, is not laying on the ground next to him but instead vertical.
Poppies were made out of tissue paper and painted with watercolor instead of being made out of printer paper that had soldier's names on them. Instead, see those patches of type throughout the painting? Those are soldiers who died/served during WW1.
Last second, I decided to do the "plastic wrap" effect on the ground. Also, I made it more brown than gray.
The poppies' stems are sort of connected in a ring now.
No acrylic was used- I originally wanted it all acrylic, but obviously I was not thinking! XD The painting is virtually all watercolor. A microscopic amount of colored pencil was used on the soldier. The poppies are tissue paper and painted with watercolor. The words were printed out on printer paper and glued to the canvas.

A BIG THANK YOU to all of the kind deviants that helped along with all my friends irl!
Like I said from the very beginning: this took over my life! I could not have remained (partially) sane without you guys!
