They just fell sort of odd to me, but that is most likely because i draw more intimidating creatures have his features.
They do however work really well for a relatable character, wich i suppose you intended him to make!

I can understand that :3 but you are very correct with your second point this character is intended to be relatable, Koal isn't evil, or all that dangerous*(well depending on who you are that is)
