Description
Cosmos is the main antagonist of the My Little Pony comics of the same name, which were written and illustrated by both Andy Price and Katie Cook.

In the story, Cosmos is depicted as Discord’s former flame, as well as the one responsible for causing chaos on a level that’d threaten the fabric of Equestria’s reality. In addition to this, she is also depicted as a chaos being that takes pleasure in outright killing or hurting others.

I’m gonna be honest about this:

Out of all the antagonists that the MLP comics introduced, Cosmos herself was by far one of my least favorites. The overall story featuring her was also one of the most lackluster of MLP’s comic arcs, and there are a boatload of reasons for why I think so.

Everything about the story (particularly in the third arc) completely contradicts Discord’s portrayal as a villain before he was eventually reformed, including that he actually took great delight in using others as his chaotic play toys and didn’t have any sort of moral standard back then. The depicted backstory revolving around him and Cosmos also contradicts the backstory Discord had in the show’s fourth season premiere. I mean, I get it, they were trying to expand on Discord’s overall character, but instead of being able to do just that…Price and Cook strayed too far from show canon, badly portrayed Discord, and completely regressed him as a character.

On top of this, Cosmos herself was one of the most forgettable and terribly-written villains by far. I couldn’t for the life of me get what her overall intentions were behind taking over Equestria, and every attempt Cook and Price made at giving her personality only seemed to cause her to be more two-dimensional and bare. When the fourth issue eventually came around, she went from wanting to takeover Equestria and lustfully have Discord as her king to suddenly not caring a single bit about him and wanting Equestria for herself, which openly caused her motivations to be all-the-more confusing.

That’s not to say I didn’t think Cosmos was fascinating or anything like that. I thought she had a great amount of potential as an MLP antagonist, but the thing is…her potential as a whole was undermined by lackluster writing and being featured in pictures on paper. With more competent writing and characterization, and not appearing only in comics, I’m sure Cosmos would be a terrific MLP villain.

In regards to the overall picture...

As with many of the other MLP pictures I shared on here, this picture of Cosmos was one that I found on the MLP Gameloft Facebook account, from which I uploaded to my Photos app. It featured both her and Twilight Sparkle, and after I uploaded it, I cropped it down to where it only featured her. But, I didn't want to upload the picture yet because I noticed that there were lots of sparkling stars everywhere, so I used the "retouch" tool as I was editing it to completely erase the stars. It was something I never thought of doing before, and I found it to be beneficial beyond compare.
