HUUUUUGE FILE~ have funSo this is how i color eyes XD this was actually quite a bit of fun to make <3 but of course, i love drawing and coloring eyes.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask! I don't mind explaining anything XD Also, if you want to watch me draw this, here is the video---> [link] I draw some other stuff in there too, but i think the eye tutorial is the second thing i do.
All the brushes i used for this were in the default brushes for Photoshop Elements 8... idk about the other photoshops or SAI. Fiddle with everything! What works for one person may not work for you. Just use this as a guideline XD also, i am by no means a professional (i personally don't even think i'm that good, but i do love my eyes <3 fun fun)
most of all, just have fun! If you want any other tutorials from me, just ask <3 i'll be happy to do them

This really seems helpful! but I was wondering how did you make the colors darker and the eyes brighter I'm really interested in knowing :3

you mean in the last part? I added some shading to the drawing by making a layer above everything i was doing and set it to "multiply." I'm not sure what color i used for the shading, but most shadows have some sort of blue tint ;D shadows are also affected by the environment. Like if the character were in a forest with a lot of greenery, the shading would probably have more of a green hue 8D
as for making the eye brighter, i love making eyes glow <3 usually i make another layer above everything (including the shading) and color over the eyeball with the brightest color in the eye. Then i use gaussian blur on it (fiddle with it until it looks right to you) and then lower the opacity depending on how much i want the eyes to glow <3
i may need to make a tutorial on that ouo it's a lot of fun and something i do a lot in all my drawings

eyes are the most fun <333 that's what i want people to do XD see how i do it, and then figure out how they can use that as a guideline to do their own epic eyes <3 This is a step by step way of how i do the eyes. You'll probably be able to see each step better if you watch the video, though XD i hope this helps you <3

finding your own style is good XD tutorials are really great about helping you figure out how to do things, but adding your own twist to it makes it yours <3 my style of eyes was born after i looked at a tutorial by =WhiteSpiritWolf <3

do you want canine anatomy or feline anatomy or some other? I'm pretty good with most animals XD i might do a poll about it~
my characters tend to be simple <3 2-4 colors in a design, so you don't get overwhelmed XD and i try to pick colors that don't clash~ i see so many characters with colors that just make me cringe
