Isometric (Or "orthographic" in 3D) means your image is drawn flat without perspective, there's no foreshortening. Objects that are farther back appear to be the same size instead of smaller.

Think of those mobile games that make you build cities. The buildings don't look like they're towering over the cities, but more like squares sitting on top of a map.
