The quickest summary I have is that the gods of mythology, being immortal never left the world and simply moved around. In order to have a form on Earth, they need a bond with someone called a consort. That person, for better or for worse would then be connected with this god for the rest of their lives. Abby is Thoth's new consort and they're travelling across America to try to find out why some of the other gods' consorts are disappearing. This particular scene is when they start to actually get used to each other and let their hair down so to speak as they bond over a common dislike of pickles.

Wow, I would read a book like that. I adore mythology and fantasy of all sorts so this story sounds right down my alley! is there anywhere I could read it? Thank you

//Well it's gone through quite a bit of changes since then. Basically the core is the same, but the entire plot has be re-done. It's going to be my NaNoWriMo novel this year.
