Description This picture makes me kind of sympathetic for the Martians. The poor dying creature is confronted by a surviving human and all they can do is stare at eachother. I wonder what thoughts are brewing in the Martian's mind...

this might actually have a deeper meaning than you may have originally intended. One of the original story's most major themes was that the martians echoed humanity in several ways. A moral to be found throughout the novel was that if humanity continues down the path of imperialism and greedily slurping up all our surrounding resources we could end up overpopulated, diseased blobs of our former selves that are so desperate for resources that we have no choice but to conquer whole other worlds, just like the martian antagonists. From this piece, it can be inferred that as the dying martian looks at us, they may be having a moment of clarity and desperately wish that we don't make the same mistakes that they did. wonderful art!

The martian wants to kill the man, but cannot. If that were me, I'd flag down a military convoy or something tell them bring up a tank or an APC.

Me to tank commander: "There it is! Waste it!"

Tank commander: "Sure... Aim... Fire!"

(BOOM! End of ugly alien.)

This is extremely dynamic and excellent, but why am I imagining some horribly awkward conversation between these two?

Human: "So...Uhm, whats Mars like?"

Martian: *WHEEEEZE*IHATEYOUSOMUCH*WHEEEEEZE*

possibly anger, hate, and other negative emotions! how would you feel if you had a bug up in your face when you where dying?
after what i understood from the book! they see us as nothing more but cattle or bugs! still they are alive and sentient, and the universe demands diversity!

we can only wonder!

btw did i mention that this is a really good picture?

I wanted to make them large, larger than a bear. And larger than an elephant for that matter, but I guess it is kind of swolen from the bacteria and diseases.
