Its a basic information dump about all you need to know to introduce you into the species or to create your MYO.
I have also removed some traits and added new ones too! So this is the most up-to-date reference to use.

Summary
Aphex (pronounced apex) are lanky, humanoid creatures that have developed many years after the extinction of the human race. The species was first created by humans synthetically, however after the downfall of the human race, the have evolved to become the dominant species, which includes the prominence of their own society. Aphex have no mouths, and instead to communicate, speak with their hands in a sort of sign language, and writing which can often be compared to hieroglyphics. They can not talk, but can create a sharp clicking sound in their air passage from their nostril, attracting the attention of others so they can speak with their hands. Aphex also gain nutrients from the sun instead of eating, they do not need a lot of nutrients to survive however which means many of this species can survive underground for weeks on end and only rise to the surface to bask in the rays briefly.

World
Aphex live in a apocalyptic world, the only presence that humans once walked upon the planet was the buildings and creations they left behind. Aphex have adapted to survive in this environment, repairing buildings to inhabit them once more. Some however relish in living in the overgrown cities, flourishing with wildlife and treasures of the extinct race still hidden within. Others prefer pure nature, no man-made creations in sight. Those who do chose to live in cities have come accustomed to wearing clothing and using their species own inventions, inspired by human inventions, yet appear to have a more steam-punk style to them. Even though Aphex have no need to eat, some still hunt animals for sport and materials, yet most treasure and coincide with them.

Society
Aphex living in a rural setting usually abide by a hierarchy, based on either coin or strength. The strongest Aphex in battle usually live a decent life, winning respect from their peers. Arena battles are a constant occurrence within this species, strength is seen as a valuable asset, and those skilled in battle climb high in the hierarchy. Most Aphex choose not to participate in this, but it is considered normal to watch these events. Aphex mate like any other species, and lay around 1-3 eggs at a time. It is the Aphex choice how long a relationship lasts and with which gender.

Aphex also have a keen sense of hearing which is attuned to the clicking that their species creates, however since they have no ability to talk with tongue, many Aphex take up the art of music, expressing their emotions in rhythm and melody. This covers instruments that do not require a mouth to play, like pianos, guitars etc. All music is non lyrical, yet conveys strong emotions none-the-less. The Aphex that master the skill of this art rarely co-operate in battling since they treasure the use of their appendages. Some Aphex however, that have lost eyesight (a common occurrence in battles) turn to this art since they can no longer communicate well to others.

Aphex do also use technology in their society, however this is no where as advanced to human technology. They have adapted any inventions from humans like the piano, clothes, buildings, guns etc, but also often create inventions for their species specifically. They do not use tech as advanced as computers, phones, televisions, internet but they have a common source of energy which is still electricity.

Appearance
Aphex are most distinguished by their long necks and their beak-like snouts, which are mostly used in battle. They can be covered in fur or leathery skin and have a range of different ears. Their bodies are very lanky, their bones also surprising flexible, which means they can twist and contract their bodies to impressive angles. This species can walk on both two legs and four legs which is based on the Aphex's personal preference.
