A quickish study from a screencap of Legend. I can't say I stuck veryclose to Tom Cruise's face/hair from that scene, but I kept it kinda close.
Anyways, I ended up liking the lines/sketch way more then the final
colored version. :T Hate when that happens...

I think I agree about your opinion of prefrence, personally the line art seems to have much more intense expression because the dark eyebrows are such a contrast bringing out the eyes, hence the expression. I think it looses this quality a little with the colour.
Just my opinion though, either way its beautiful and charismatic peice of work

Anyway....agh, it happens to me all the time, I mean, the fact of liking the lines/sketches more than the finished colored version =____= But in your case I think the colored one is gorgeous! The burning lights and orange colors add a lot to the lines, it's very tridimensional.
And gaah, your men are aways so handsomeeee

Whilest I do love the movie, I see this as an original aspect of the character. Which actually is cool. I have been thinking more about these days; how people see their version of fictional characters. Lately all I see are people drawing the characters from movies like The Hobbit, Twilight, Guardians, Xmen and so on. Its nice to see peoples own version of characters.
I love this. As always, its a great pic. But then again, your art has never disappointed me.

You're right. Once people see a movie, they start simply depicting the characters as they are in that movie. It's instantly recognizable, but definitely not as creative. (: I guess it's more of a way of bonding with other fans, really. (I much prefer the dark-haired Faramir, myself... lol) And thank you so much~

LOL Well, Darkness did certainly put on a good show. The makeup was amazing and of course, Tim Curry. lol I can't help but like Jack, though I think he could've been a stronger hero if he hadn't needed those fairies coaching him the entire time! lol
