Ruby and sapphire are in a relationship. It's canon- they're not sisters.

Technically, "gay" can't be used here because they don't have genders, but if you mean the other meaning of gay, which is happy, then it does apply here

Can't you let people have this? It's two female-pronoun using nonbinary rocks in a canon romantic relationship. It's gay.

There it is again. You are not using the correct word

togepi1234 In reply to jaytpk [2015-06-23 04:20:51 +0000 UTC]
No. But think about this: If it's 2 girls loving eachother, it's called "lesbian". Not "gay"

jaytpk In reply to togepi1234 [2015-06-23 04:47:11 +0000 UTC]
Actually it's lesbian OR gay, and honestly please stop trying to tell people what's right or wrong when you don't know anything about it yourself. 'Gay' is generally equated to 'queer' or 'not straight' in the lgbtqa+ community. Thus the terms "gay marriage" "gay rights" etc. ://

I know that dude. I just said that the term that people use is lesbian. Also, going to a school where people call others gay as an insult really change your view on the word

every school has people that use gay as an insult

jaytpk In reply to togepi1234 [2015-06-23 11:59:50 +0000 UTC]
because you decided you had some sort of superiority in lgbtqa+ terms and decided to tell a gay person when he should use the word gay for something or idk whatever

i know the gems dont have a gender...but, imo, theyre all females

SilverWolf915 In reply to togepi1234 [2015-06-23 14:08:49 +0000 UTC]
they look and sound feminine...plus Mr. Universe fell in love w/ Rose and "she" gave birth to Steven. the way i see it, genderless folks should not be able to fall in love or give birth. now if they came out and said that gems have a way of changing genders, then i'll be a bit more accepting of them being genderless since they can be both a male and a female
👍: 0 ⏩: 2
jaytpk In reply to SilverWolf915 [2015-07-30 02:12:27 +0000 UTC]
None of them have genders. The creators have said this. They've also said that Rose shape-shifted a womb to give birth to steven. Besides, they're humanoid space rocks??? & what do you have against agender people?? There ARE people who identify as having no gender. It's a real thing. All agender people that aren't ace/aro still fall in love and some can have children. If they could be two genders then they would be bigender.

SilverWolf915 In reply to jaytpk [2015-07-30 04:08:43 +0000 UTC]
lol i dont have anything against them...i just find it weird that the gems r considered genderless yet they look/sound so feminine. the least the creators could do is make them look/sound more gender-neutral

jaytpk In reply to SilverWolf915 [2015-07-30 04:26:49 +0000 UTC]
You can be genderless and still have feminine qualities or appearance.

SilverWolf915 In reply to jaytpk [2015-07-30 10:48:36 +0000 UTC]
in reality, maybe...but in shows, games, etc, the creators try to make them neither male or female looking. another thing w/ the gems, if they were genderless, y do the creators have them refer to each other as she and her? the creators say "genderless" but everything else points to "female"
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
jaytpk In reply to SilverWolf915 [2015-08-03 02:41:07 +0000 UTC]
in shows, games, etc, genderless/agender people/things are hardly represented, soo...
Is this so hard to grasp?? You can be genderless and still use female pronouns and look feminine etc. They do not have a defined gender but they act feminine. It's a lot easier to understand if you realize that gender doesn't have to be such a big deal.

SilverWolf915 In reply to jaytpk [2015-08-03 05:44:41 +0000 UTC]
of course gender isnt a big deal, but each gender has a specific feature to them that defines them as a specific gender. i suppose the absence of breasts makes the gems "genderless", but everything else about them makes them " female

jaytpk In reply to SilverWolf915 [2015-08-06 17:09:18 +0000 UTC]
Gender isn't defined by how you appear to other people. It's assumed because that's the way human communication works, but here you literally have the creators telling you they don't have a gender. It's a fact, so you can't really argue it.

SilverWolf915 In reply to jaytpk [2015-08-07 16:57:27 +0000 UTC]
well true...
i suppose it's similar to a guy referring to himself as a girl (and vise versa for a girl)...so i suppose the genderless Gems refer to themselves as "female"

jaytpk In reply to SilverWolf915 [2015-08-10 09:08:26 +0000 UTC]
if a "guy" identifies as a girl, she is a girl.

of course. some "guys" and some "girls" that r identified as their actual gender get pretty pissed off sometimes
