Description
During World War II, the super-soldier program Project Augment used backward engineered alien technology to awaken latent super powers in humans possessing the extremely rare Delta Gene. Then nature took its course and the next generation saw the birth of the first natural-born superhumans. Some chose to use their powers for the benefit of society, others did not. As battles between superhumans grew more frequent and destructive, the US government created a task force to study possible solutions. This led to the creation of Powerwatch , an organization that monitors superhuman activity. Armed with weapons utilizing the same technology that drove Project Augment, Power Watch agents act against superhuman threats that can't be dealt with through conventional means. The agency is also in charge of the holding facilities where especially powerful criminals are incarcerated. These facilities use a variety of means to create inescapable cells, ranging from psychic scramblers to pocket dimensions and non-linear time. Even superheroes are closely monitored and, if deemed a danger to the public, dealt with accordingly.
