This year, marks the 35th anniversary of two of my favorite shows of my childhood, that were both made in the same year, 1984, The Transformers or the G1 Transformers series, based on the toyline created by Hasbro and Takara, first aird on September 17, 1984, the first episode of The Transformers was More than meets the eye Part 1, the plot of the episode involves the Autobots and the Decepticons having a war and leaving their home planet of Cybertron, the two teams crashed landed on earth and were knocked out for millions of years until a volcano erupted causing the Autobot's ship's computer, Teletraan 1, the computer repaired both teams and the war continues on, this time, on earth.

One mouth later, Thomas the tank engine & Friends, now known as Thomas & Friends based on the Railway Series books written by the reverend Wilbert Awdry, first aird on October 9, 1984, just one month after the G1 Transformers series had first aired, the first episode of Thomas & Friends was Thomas & Gordon, the plot of the episode involves Thomas working in a big station on the island of Sodor, he was playing tricks on the big engines incluiding Gordon, one day, Gordon was getting tired of Thomas playing tricks on him and decided to pay him back.
I am aware that the two shows and the franchises that they came from are two very different things, but atleast they still have talking vehicles in some capacity.
