Hello from ProjectComment !
I'm going to tell you a bit about what I love about this piece and a few areas that I think could be worked on to improve in the future
Overall I adore how this piece comes off. Your use of colours and lighting is really good at portraying the romantic side to the scene. I had a skim through the story that the scene relates to and you can definitely see this as you're reading. I especially like how you start with the brightness from the house on the left at the top and switch through the middle of the panel and keep the light on the right at the bottom. It guides your eye through the piece, past both of the characters in the correct order, so you don't feel like you're looking everywhere at once. Your shading of where the light lands also looks spot on to me! I really like the effect the roughness of the shading and background gives, it adds a unique effect to the piece that you don't get so much with clean cut art
With the anatomy for the most part it's also good, but there are a few things that could be improved on in my opinion. The main thing is that the character on the top (Raze?) has a fairly masculine looking face. It could just be the way I see faces or a deliberate way of portraying the character, but until I read the story I assumed both the characters in this piece were male. Raze's body shape and hands both look feminine and if I cover the face then I can see it is a female character, but the sharpness of some of the lines on the face make her look male. If this was something you wanted to change then perhaps making a slightly rounder cheekbone and chin, and softer shading on the line under the eye. It doesn't need to be anything dramatic, just a subtle erasing of the hard angled lines to soften them out a bit more could help. Like with this: i.ytimg.com/vi/lClsYZebzyw/hqd… , you don't need sharp lines to show a woman has sharper features. Another example is this: scstylecaster.files.wordpress.… where this woman has sharp cheeks but there is no solid line of sharpness, instead a more subtle shade change. It's not a huge issue, just something to consider if you want to make her face more obviously a female.
As for the man (Kron?) there's not a lot I see that needs working on. The only thing I noticed is anatomically the mouth is a little too large. If you're going for an exaggerated expression then it works, and I'm only noticing it because I'm trying to look for things to critique on. At first glance it doesn't stand out at all. However if you wanted to go for a little more realism in the expression then shrinking the length of the mouth ever so slightly could help. If you look at this image: previews.123rf.com/images/spax… even a completely exaggerated smirking expression doesn't span quite as far across the face as you've drawn. Your way of drawing the expression works with your style, but if you're looking to go more realistic in the future it could be something to consider.
The only other thing I have to say is more a personal preference than a problem with the piece. Considering that the story includes the detail of two swans in the music box it would have been a nice detail to add in for people who had read the scene previously. Or if they're not seen from this angle, maybe drawing the music box tilted in her hands as if she's been looking it over, so you can see part of the swans or something.
As a whole I do love this art and it would be cool to see more of what you can do in this style. I hope the things I picked out give you something to think about for future pieces, but they really were all just minor things that don't take away from enjoying this as a good piece of art!

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback I happy to hear you like the coloring since it was a bit of a struggle for me to get it the way I wanted.
It was supposed to be a quick color and light study on a rough sketch and I ended up playing around with it for hours.
As for Raze I'm pretty amused you find her looks masculine - because she's the type of a character I wish not to portray too feminine
- she's a bit of a tomboy and struggles with her sharp and edgy looks that she herself doesn't consider pretty. She gets confused for a male every now and then and she hates it
but it's doomed to happen since - well she doesn't look very girlish. Also she's rather skinny hence I didn't want her cheeks to round - you made a great point though!
Large mouths are one of the traps I tend to fall in too often to be honest ^^' so your feedback is spot on, gotta work on those smiles!

Hi! You’ve given me so many lovely comments I decided to return the favor. c:
I’ve had my eye on this piece for a while but I didn’t think I could writhe much of a critique about it because it looks so good! I was primarily drawn in by the atmosphere you created with the contrasting colors and the light only shining at the characters from inside. You choose your colors perfectly, soft but not too warm. You really get the feeling of a cold winter evening.
I need to know the story behind this now! >.<
I also absolutely love the coloring style you used here with the sketchy lines and textures coming through. They give the (short) comic extra character and a real comic like feeling, and the textures bring it to life. I especially like the extra depth it adds to their facial features. The only place where I don’t like the sketchy outlines is in the pine trees in the background of the first panel. Their shape looks a little rushed and too rounded, the branches should end in sharper points and with their 4 levels they look too stylized for this piece. Real trees are messier with branches all over. Since it is just a simple background, this wouldn’t bother me if they weren’t outlined in black. Like in the second panel for example.
You clearly have a very unique style that is consistent in every character you draw. Their expressions here are also spot on. One tiny remark I can make is that the scar of the second guy is a little too overpowering and draws the attention away from the rest of his nuanced face. This is mostly because the sharp light illuminating his face from the right doesn’t tough the scar. Simply making the scar a few tones lighter there should fix it. You could make it’s outlines a little less heavy too.
Keep up the great work and I look forward to seeing more of your illustrations! You always pick very interesting color palates and atmospheres.

Well you're in luck because there actually IS a story behind this
Here - Christmas Memories - it's a 3 part Christmas story I wrote a couple of years back and it's very....romantic hehe, this scene included!
Honestly though I struggled with this piece so much D: I knew what kind of colors I wanted but had hard time getting them just right
and mostly I just improvised... and yeah I got really lazy with those trees X'D they look so sloppy!
Thanks for the feedback - I might actually give this piece some finishing touches according to your great points!
