These are some of the drawings I did this summer, I've got a bunch more in my other sketchbook, but I'll post them up later.I really need to work on page composition! A lot of my life drawings are too uh... Line-y. I'm trying to fix that.

This just reminds me how out of practice I'm going to be with gestures when I go back to school in like a month and a half XD
Your drawings look amazing though, yes indeed. I do the line-y thing too, I think it is the bane of being an animator.

hurr these are looking good bro. Really enjoying the gestural ones. Also like that one with the man and the bat. Really get the sense of volume in the ribcage.
If you're worried about liney-ness, have you tried using one of those fat graphite sticks? Kinda lends to more shape building instead of line building.

when I get out of life drawing my whole face is full of conte and I look like that chimney sweep guy from mary poppins haha

ugh man and charcoal dries out your hands so hardcore. I always forgot to bring lotion so my hands were all scaly and gross. And the conte under the nails. And inevitably it gets on your face. Then you go to a lecture class and people look at you like you're a cartoon character that got caught in an explosion.

I wouldn't trade it for anything though. You know when you get on the bus and your hands are pitch black and it's 11pm and you're just in drawing bliss cause you feel like you're doing something productive and its the most amazing feeling.

i am loving these sketches. they're very full of life... you should keep going with this sketchy quality in your finished work... your drawings look so much more alive when you do

haha that was all in photoshop. My tablet stuff always comes out way too stiff, it's so hard to draw on it!!
