Finally finished! I still have to do a background, but it's probably just going to be a solid color, and I like it fine the way it is. The hair took absolutely forever. I'm just glad to be done with this. I'm actually kind of proud. It turned out better than I would have thought.Some news- my computer charger died this morning so I have to use my dad's laptop until the new one I ordered gets here. And his screen stretches everything so my face looks really fat in this picture. :I Also, school starts tomorrow, so I might not be online much.

At first I thought this was a photo.
The hair looks really good. O__O I'm personally too lazy to do hair all fancy and such so when I see other people do it it makes me all jealous of their dedication/talent.

The hair took forever, and I struggled a lot at the beginning but eventually developed a good method for working on it and I learned a lot about drawing hair from this.

Oh, hmm, well for just sketching it out I do it loosely and kind of in chunks, because hair clumps together (especially mine, and in my case the clumps each kind of curl). Then when I go to color/shade it I usually do the dark parts first, and use lines of shading to define the different chunks of hair more and make it look more like it is made of strands. Then I add the highlighting in a few places- opposite of the placement of the shadows- to give it more dimension.

Its just that some of the proportions are kind of off, like the mouth, shoulders/body.
I think there is always room for improvement! Or else I would never get any better.

I think once you get the basics of art down in any media its easier to try different methods. Since I already understood anatomy and color I just had to learn how to use pixels haha

Thanks! I browse the pixel art on here sometimes and some if it is so amazingly detailed and it has a certain charm to it, it makes me inspired to do some.
