Description Done for 's Super Hero Contest:

STUPENDIA

Secret ID - Samantha Dixon

Powers -
The generic superhuman cocktail of flight, resistance to damage and super-strength.

Real World Quirk-
Internal Dialogue now External Dialouge.

Background -
Desperate to crash into the comic industry, her creator threw together and pitched an endless variation of superheroes, many of which were likely half-baked and fairly generic. Stupendia, a female sounding version of Stupendous according to the artist, is prime example of this, created when he was back at high-school, he based Stupendia upon one of the cheerleaders, a blond girl named Samantha Dixon who he had an unspoken crush upon. Not that a cheerleader would ever date a nerd like him.

Eventually realizing he was unlikely to ever make it, he moved onto to other focuses, just drawing as a hobby, but one day he pulled out an old drawing of her and wondered what might of been...

...followed by a real live version of her falling out of a portal into his lap.

Intially overjoyed to play host to superpowered bombshell who believes they are dating, he began to realize she had a rather annoying and life threatening quirk.

When she crossed over to our world, Stupendia has developed a tendancy to blurt outloud things that in her comic world would be delived by a narrator or inside an internal thought balloon. These range from the fairly lowkey such as describing her future plans in the third person, to the annoying such as announcing her moves before hand anime style, through to the downright painful such as pointing out whose she's dating, the location she lives and her secret identity in public.

With effort she is attempting to curb this, but still causes endlessly torment for her creator. Her public exclaimations have also created problems for Samantha Johnson (nee Dixon), the real life subject upon which Stupendia was based. While less well endowed, they look close enough alike that many people keep asking and questioning the real estate agent mother of two about if she's secretly a superhero...

The moment I learned of the Heroine's name I suddenly imagined a Choir-like group scream out her name in complete harmony, lol. Cool beans dude, cool beans.

Yeah I guess, the whole concept of the internal/external is what sold my on the idea, which kinda shows in the design/lack thereof in the actual character herself.

Or just another reminder I sucksucksuck at names

No problem: there are so few names left (the good heroes took the best ones) that we have to scrape for them.

Could be funny--sounds like it could be a cool premise for an ongoing webcomic--not just the external narrative gag and the "creation coming to life" plot, but reprecussions of an old high school crush coming back to haunt you in the weirdest way possible . . .

Perhaps, but my art production rate is all over the place NOW, and future production in serious question, I'd hate to see how frequent a webcomic I'd produce

I know, and of course some my point out I'm being lazy by not even trying, but reached a nice level with present method of just drawing short sequences or singles.
