A Teaser for: Batman The Brave And The Bold - "After The Claw Strikes Twelve"

In a department store in Gotham....

"This is a stick-up!!! Don't anybody move!!!", a thug said, waving his weapon around, with people huddled together, scared and fearing for their lives. "The place is secured boss", another one said, calling out to someone outside the door. Then, a chilling character started walking in a pinstripe suit. His skin was covered in a thin icy sheen, and his footsteps left trails of ice shards wherever he walked. He then made his way to the center of the store, passing by frighten customers, and said with a chilling breath: "Good work boys. Now, get the loot you mooks, and if anyone gets in the way...put them on ICE!!!". As the goons were collecting the goods, one of them came to a young man in the corner, with his hood up. "Alright 'junior', I know you got something underneath there; now give it to me!!!", he said. "Alright", he said calmly as his hand charged up, "How 'bout I give you THIS?!?!", he shouted, letting out a grunt and punching the hood straight into a wall. "Anyone else want some?!?", the kid said, feeling sure of himself. "How was that Bat's?", the young man asked, eagerly awaiting Batman's response. "Not bad Static", Batman said, revealing himself from the guise of an unassuming shopper, watching Static from a distance, "But you still need to do some more work on your 'one-liners'".

After banging two hoods heads together, Batman addressed the villain and said: "Your 'chilling' wave of mall 'philandering' is over Brainfreeze!!". "Batman??", Brainfreeze said, looking at the duo polishing off some of his thugs, "It'd be a pleasure to ICE you off!!", he uttered. He then breathed in deep, and let out a yell that froze everything in his range. As Batman flung his cape over himself, Static, unfortunately, got caught in the blast. Before he could even react, the cold snap hurled Static through a glass window, with shards flying every which way as he crashed painfully to the ground two floors down, frozen in a block of ice. "STATIC!!!!", Batman howled, looking up to see the room completely covered in ice. He began to run toward Brainfreeze with fury in his eyes, until he was met by a dozen or so of his henchmen. They rushed Batman, but they had no chance as he started taking them down blow by blow. One snuck up behind him and clocked Batman in the head. The last thing he heard was Brainfreeze's sadistic laughter, before everything went dark.

After he came to, he was brought before Brainfreeze. "Ah....the legendary Dark Knight, not so mighty now are you??", he said, laughing to himself as his goons dragged a tied-up Batman to a nearby window. "Take a good look outside Batman, it's the last time you'll ever see warmth again!!!", he said as breathed in deep one last time. Just then, energy pulsated from where Static was frozen, coursing through the ice and breaking him free, and propelling him back up with lightning speed. "Yo 'Freeze...prepare to get thawed!!!", he said as he hurled a blast of electricity at the foe, but hit his flunkies instead as he dodged out of the way. As Static untied Batman, he looked and said to his partner: "Nice work Static, but we still have Brainfreeze to catch", As Brainfreeze ran down a flight of stairs trying to reach the exit, Batman leapt in front of the villain and said: "Freeze you cur!!", "That's the idea!!", Brainfreeze said as he opened his mouth and froze Bat's where he stood. As he turned around to flee, he bumped into Static; as he was about to freeze him, he said: "And just what do you think you're gonna do, kid??", "How's about a little JOLT..." , he said as he hit him with a charged punch, square in the jaw, "...To put a shock to your system?!?!"

As the police were taking the villainous group into custody, Batman turned to his young partner and said: "Good work today Static, you handled yourself like a true hero..". "Oh, thanks..", Static replied, a little dejected, "And by the way, nice line..", Batman said before jumping into the Bat-Mobile, going off to his next emergency, and leaving Static with a grin on his face as flew into the air on his disc....
