“Mmm... Once upon a time, in a little land called 'Canagan' centuries ago.. It was a quaint little town, full of framers and blacksmiths and warriors like none has ever seen. But even though they were a great land with fearsome ties, they did not seek war, only fighting when the time arose, like true warriors. Friendly to those in need of shelter, harsh to ones whose only purpose was to act with cruelty.”

  “They were a staple in their great land, never backing down from what came their way. And in that land, they raised and lived with the mighty wolf. They were their companions, their means of help and protection. They were kind as their partners were kind, but stern with they were too. They had a strong bond with this noble creature, protecting their friends fiercely as they did for those whose raised them, their clan.”

  “All was good in the land, until a war came, a very special war. There came one night, a strange mist into the land, filling up the towns til no one outside them could see in. The mist then started to speak to the peoples of the towns, explaining why it had come.”

  “It had a strange sounding voice, a child's voice but sweeter, if it's possible. The people looked on in amazement as it spoke up: 'BEWARE!! YOU ARE IN GREAT DANGER!!' As the people look at the mist and murmur to each other, one brave young man stepped forward and asked: 'What is the danger you speak of?? We are capable people, with strong companions by our sides.'”

   “After those words, his companion howled in agreement and appeared by his side, ready to stand with him. The voice smiled, though no one could see it as it said: 'THAT IS WHAT I NEEDED TO HEAR. YOU SEE, THERE IS AN INVADING FORCE COMING TO YOUR LAND; THEY ARE JEALOUS OF YOUR SUCCESS AND ARE SCORNED FROM THEIR FALIURE. THEY HAD MADE A PACT WITH AN EVIL ENTITY THAT HAS GRANTED THEM IMMENSE POWER TO DESTORY YOU. YOU WILL HAVE TO BE CHANGED TO BE ABLE TO WITHSTAND THIS NEEDLESS TWIST OF FATE.'”

   “The young man and his wolf stepped forward and said: 'What do we have to do to protect our land and families.. All of our families??' The voice said with a heavy heart: 'IN ORDER FOR YOUR CLAN TOLIVE, YOU MUST LET ME TURN YOU INTO WHAT THEY HAVE BECOME; BUT FOR GOOD, NOT EVIL..WHAT WILL YOU CHOOSE??' The voice asked the young man and his companion, among others in the towns nearby. They all grinned as they said unanimously: 'My...our...answer is..YES!!'”

   “And with that, the mist took the young man and the wolf by his side..” An older gentleman said before being interrupted by a smaller voice. “And the mist did do something extraordinary right? Something did happen inside there right??” The young child said with excitement as he rocked back and forth in his bed. The older man smiled as he sat on the bedside, leaning in close to tell his famous bedtime story to his youngest nephew before he headed to bed. He smiled as he cleared his throat and began to speak again in his thick Scottish accent about the story.”

   “Now, do you mind if I finish the story wee lad?? Anyway, yes.. Something extraordinary did happen. After the mist had taken the young ones, boys and girls alike, it bonded them together with their wolf counterparts; creating a brand new breed of warriors with special powers to defeat the invaders. And only after a few days of fighting with the evil horde, the new warriors proved victorious and drove them out past the lands to unknown territories.”

   “They became the new protectors of Canagan, in secret and in public. They are still the chosen to be the protectors even today, ones who are born from a certain bloodline.. Our bloodline laddie.. You could be next in line to be a member of the..”

   “He was about to say the important thing to this eager young man before his mother came in and knocked on his door, knowing that it was time for him to go to bed. “Sweetie.. Its time to go to sleep. Tell Uncle Danny good night..” She said as he sighed, waiting to hear the rest. “Oh.. Ok mom. Good night Uncle Angus..” He said as he got up and hugged him tightly. “Haha.. Why does everyone of my nieces and nephews call me that?? Alright kiddo, get to sleep and dream about protecting the lands from evil..” Danny said softly to him before got up and walked to the door.

   “Do you think I will be chosen Uncle Danny? To protect the people of.. Ahhh.. New Haven?” He asked. “Yes Blaine.. I'm sure you will..” With that, he closed Blaine's door as he drifted into sleep. His mother looked at Danny and sighed. “Do you really think he will Dan? That he will be caught up in all of this?” “Its not up to me Mary, but the mist... That's how its always been..” He said as they looked out the window and saw a strange mist rising up...

   “He was about to say the important thing to this eager young man before his mother came in and knocked on his door, knowing that it was time for him to go to bed. “Sweetie.. Its time to go to sleep. Tell Uncle Danny good night..” She said as he sighed, waiting to hear the rest. “Oh.. Ok mom. Good night Uncle Angus..” He said as he got up and hugged him tightly. “Haha..
