I use photomatix pro3 and PS CS3. this HDRi consist 3 shots with +/-1.3EV... usually I set my camera on autobracketing and take photos on hand, without tripod.

ohh neat! you're a wealth of information. Thank you! does photo matrix cost anything?? and does it matter if it's color to bw or can it start bw?

at the moment I have trial version of photomatix, but cost about 100$ full version.. In this software you can make color hdr, or BW directly, through the processing... I convert in BW in PS and also use it for the other correction (levels, contrast, vignette etc..)
