Description
edit - Alternate version: Don't judge a movie by its book as requested by =Aquarior .edit - Changed the font.
I read that sentence into a Reader's Digest and I thought it would make a nice stamp.
Then I discovered that somebody had already done a similar stamp here , but I decided to submit this one anyway.

I have a question: Can you make another stamp just like this, but with the text "DON'T JUDGE A MOVIE BY ITS BOOK"? When I read the negative reviews for a movie, most of them are complaints of the kind "Waaah, they did not put every single line from the book into the movie!". Which really annoys me, since the only way to get 100% of the book consists in actually reading it. A movie is an entirely separate artwork that follows different rules. So the book can be better or worse than the movie, which is why I need both stamps That would be great!

It's really decent of you to have shared the [link] to the other deviation, the stamp quite similar to this one. When I see people do things like that, it tells me a bit about the person - you're good<.b> people, as my family used to tell me when I was growing up.
I think both are good, thank you for creating and then posting this for us. (:

Look what they did to every single Harry Potter in existence - with the exception of the Goblet Of Fire, which had a good movie but a terrible book.

I think it's mainly that there was so much information in the books that was in a way influencial to the plot, that by cutting to make the movie short enough, the story had gaping plot holes and didn't really make sense anymore. I pity anyone who saw the movies without reading the books.
But by reading the books before, I think it's possible to enjoy the special effects and the visual designs of the characters and the beautiful castle, since you don't have to worry about understanding the plot.

Yeah, and it's always amaze me when people who havent read the books can enjoy the movies? Howcome they understand the story when there are those plot holes everywhere? Well, I guess

Yeah, with the last Harry Potter movies, I wonder how people who haven't read the books understood everything.

YES. So true. I mean, look at what they did to Breaking Dawn.... No, never mind, don't look, unless you've read the book, otherwise, you'll be turned off to it.

Ex-Twilight fan, but really curious to see just how they passed a PG-13 rating on that movie...I read all the books and don't know how they got away with it.

CloudsGirl7 In reply to VividSunsets [2012-03-07 18:06:31 +0000 UTC]
Yeah...but they did. Either way, I'm not seeing it again(sticking to the books), and I'm boycotting the DVDs/Blu-rays. The only reason I'm going to see the second part is because I'm too curious for my own damn good. XD But I will make sure to go to the crappiest theater I know when I see it.
Best example(to my knowledge) of a book-movie transition gone BAD.... And I'm sure it depends on WHO makes the movie. I mean, look at The Lord Of The Rings; those people did superbly.... But then again, those are some pretty awesome books, too...far better than the Twilight or Harry Potter books, by my opinion.

But you know when a movie from a book is GOOD then the book must be EPIC!
Like Stephen King's "The Stand" was good in both formats. :]

Daeg-Niht In reply to Cursico [2011-11-05 07:45:52 +0000 UTC]
I think I received a couple comments higher up on this stamp saying some movies were better than their books, probably because they got to the point better. A good movie could just mean it was well adapted from a crappy book.
Though in the case of Stephen King, you're pretty much guaranteed that the book's good.
