Description edit - Alternate version: Don't judge a movie by its book as requested by =Aquarior .

edit - Changed the font.

I read that sentence into a Reader's Digest and I thought it would make a nice stamp.

Then I discovered that somebody had already done a similar stamp here , but I decided to submit this one anyway.

Template: [link]

edit - Thanks to everybody who faved this. I've stopped thanking you all on your profile because it was starting to take a lot of time.

I was extremely disappointed by the movie. Or movies. I think there's a second one now?

HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON.

Seriously. The movies were crap and nothing like the book. Everything about the movies and the tv series based on the books disgusts me. And then when someone says they like the movie more because toothless looks cooler in the movie...

*RAGE*
Β
THAT'S NOT THE FREAKING POINT!!!!

Dear god yes.
I am a HUGE fan of the books, so of course the movies drove me crazy. Everyone thinks me crazy for disliking it, but seriously. DRIVES ME NUTTERS

I don't remember pretty much from the books. Should re-read them. But most of the time I was just annoyed by Toothless. But yeah, he's cooler in the movie. They totally changed everything for the movie, though. :/ I mean... The "everyone owns a dragon" concept changed to "everyone hates dragons". Ugh. And Toothless being pretty much pathetic (I don't really remember much about him except that he was small and toothless, I guess he was better at something?) compared to the other dragons was a big part of the books.

Yeah, it was. The books are really funny. I used to read them all the time when I was nine or so.

They are very good books, but so many people don't realize they exist, and most people judge them based on the horrible tv series and the movies.

There's 12 or 13 books, I think. The books are children's books, but my parents love them and I still read them, they have an excellent sense of humor and actually get quite dark later on in the series.

I know right? And now the movie has a cartoon who calls "Dragons: Riders of Berk" who is more crappy than the movie.

Even though Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth were amazing in the movies, I personally think they fucked the Hungers Games series up with those movies. Basic point, I don't like the movies. The books are a lot better...Β

I just hate how a lot of people view Lord of the Rings just because of the movies. The books are way better, and the movies fail to capture the glory of the books.

This is so true!
One example is Neverending Story....
I know thereΒ΄s a lot of people who love the movies and TV series, but having read the original book a couple of times, they were just nothing but disappointing to me -which really pissed me off!
Though a few scenes are kind of accurate to the book (like the meeting in the forest in the beginning or the scene where Atreyu loses his horse in the swamp and encounters the giant turtle Morla) a lot of IMPORTANT things were ignored (like Cairon visiting the Greenskins, Ygramul the Many, the Night Forest, the Colorful Desert and Graograman) and some character designs were even radically changed...
For example:
-the Night Hob is described like a black furry caterpillar with huge eyes in the book, but in the movie he is a small humanoid (at least the fact that he has a pet bat is accurate)
-Atreyu does have brownish skin in the movie, in spite of belonging to the GREENskin people (Captain Obvious speaking here!)
-I imagined Falcor looking like a Chinese Dragon with silverish scales (kind of like Haku from Spirited Away) but in the movie he looks like an oversized white Dachshund

And thatΒ΄s just one of many examples, I know a ton of others and could go on and on about this!
ThatΒ΄s why IΒ΄m usually skeptical when it comes to movie adaptations of books...

I have all the Heroes of Olympus books, but I haven't started the reading any yet. I wanted to finish this book called "The Land Of Stories" first. When I'm done with that, I'll start The Lost Hero, and when I've read out the Heroes Of Olympus series, I'll read The Hunger Games XD LOL

Did you see the movies yet? The first one was completely inaccurate but they did step it up in Catching Fire. (Although, they left out a scene that I really liked)

No v.v My mom is a bit overprotective, so she wanted to watch the movie before I did, to see if it was appropriate. She only got to see Catching Fire today, and she says I can watch it, but I guess I'm waiting til they come out on DVD now. BOO Β

The books are better than them, in my opinion, so you might just want to read them for yourself. (Also, there's a mention of prostitution in the third book, but that's pretty much all that's mature aside from the gore)

Way to tell it.Β

It aggravates me when someone around me talk trash about a book, they hadn't read yet, and already judge it after watching the movie.Β

I mean twilight is a decent series, better compared to the movie, even the Host is beautifully created for intended for a more mature audience, and after the movie came out, there was more anger toward the author, another peeve. Don't even get me started on Eragon, GoldeCompass, PJO, and TMI ( love the book and the movie for trying)Β

Love the stamp Β
