Description
Those who control your knowledge, control you.Clerks are responsible for data entry into the archives, but are not authorized to retrieve information outside of their directories. When information does need to be cross referenced from additional sources, a request is made to the Archivists for data retrieval.Β
Specifically authorized for access to multiple ComSec archive divisions, Archivists are allowed great freedom with regards to data. Due to the immense volume of data that is processed at any given moment, Archivists are highly augmented individuals, with greatly enhanced memory recall and physical speed.
While the ComSec Archivists are enhanced by some of the most cutting age Biotek augmentations, they are not trained to handle direct combat, and must rely on their personal Fe-nen Biotek entities for protection.
Additionally, Fe-nen entities are authorized to terminate any Archivists attempting unauthorized data retrieval.

I imagine they know quite a bit of information, part of the reason why they're so dangerous to the peace and unity of humanity. This is why they are all assigned Fe-nen entities.
There is no such thing as an rogue independent Archivist.

Hey Alexi, thanks for the comment.
The costume design is one of the stranger ones I've put out for sure, but I think this is pretty much the distilled essence of the look I'm trying to get for Bright Future. Tech, Tek, and beautiful women.

Considering the depth of the ComSec archives, it's pretty much a guarantee. Since Russia wasn't instantly glassed (they had about 3 hours warning), a decent amount of data survived in that country.

Love the design, love the colors the red and black have an excellent contrast with that subtle blue glow. And those drones or bots are bad ass looking, immediately made me think of wasps.great stuff D!

Those red floaty things are the Fe-nen. They are a type of Biotek entity, self aware, and designed for speed and aggression. I'm glad the waspy look works, they're not really supposed to be 'friends' of the Archivists, but 'watchers'.
I struck on the red/black color scheme for the PsiComp non-military personnel after doing a bit of research. I needed a bright color that would stand out against the background of PsiComp facilities, which are mostly gold and white, with some amber lighting. Of course, like everything in this setting, color isn't really set to one frozen color scheme, I will probably change it around to fit my needs. *muwhahahaha-ha -ahem*
The blue holographics designate their vital identity, and rank. Those colors on the other hand will most likely remain the same, just for consistencies sake. I'll make a chart of PsiComp ID holographics soon.

Clothing in the Bright Future seems to be either purely utilitarian, like armor, or relegated to a seemingly purely ornamental role, without the in-between one sees in modern clothing.
Is it a cultural thing? A quirk of PsiComp?

Daemoria In reply to TerranAbassador [2015-07-24 20:45:35 +0000 UTC]
Good eye. Clothing is fashion in the purest sense. I imagine once the cultural taboos of nudity have been excised for thousands of years, the gradual shift to something like the above is a natural progression. This is combined with improved medical technology/diet/exercise will lead to people being more comfortable with displaying and viewing the 'natural' body.
The clothing above is an actual uniform, and not a casual outfit. The principles are still the same. This uniform is not designed for people doing heavy lifting or dangerous activities, it's used by Archivists. They have to move fast through sometimes hot (temperature) locations. You'll see the differences in uniforms for different roles, coming soon.
Of course, you've seen the Bonesuits by now. Purely armor and purpose in form/aesthetic. If it's designed to protect, it's not going to be a damn set of bikini armor. :3
Still, fashion changes, a couple decades after this, more and more aggressively modded bodies become the cultural norm. I'm still working on the particular look to that though, so it'll be a while before I start uploading stuff from that era.
--
This particular cultural aesthetic isn't shared by every sub group of humanity. On planets that have not been modified, the standard fashion can be quite different. The main group of humanity (Utopia) live on very warm worlds, think of the climate of the Mediterranean and you'll get a good idea of the standard planetary type.

The archives contain most of the known 'Yes' in the universe. No lies.
But it also contains the same amount, if not more, of the 'Nopenopenopenope'.
