You get far smoother lines in illustrator (and it's easier) but It doesn't feel right at the end. Sure this technique is a pain in the a$$ but the results are far more natural. What do you guys think?

I'm pretty sure she is using Cam Studio, 90% sure.
camstudio.software.informer.co…

Keep in mind that the recorder renders in .sfw format and has a 5 or 10min recording limit.

Can you tell me only How big is the the canvas where you work? (in pixels)

Avarus-Lux [2012-01-29 17:08:11 +0000 UTC]

so this is how you do lineart nice and smooth, no wonder people point and laugh at me XD, i generally go slowly along my sketch with a small hard brush and an eraser... now i see why they laugh, they use the pen tool, from which i didnt know it could do that lol....

thanks for your tutorials.

PhantasselArt [2011-12-20 01:28:01 +0000 UTC]

I have elements. It doesn't have the pen tool. Do you have another way to make those long, curved lines? ^^

Daesiy In reply to PhantasselArt [2011-12-20 01:29:06 +0000 UTC]

I usually just do them by hand quickly so they're smoother. c:

Hey, probably a stupid question to ask, but how does your brush get so smooth?? whenever I use the brush, it never does look as 'smooth' as yours.

Also, your tutorials help alot. And I never knew there was a sketching and line-arting tutorial in your gallery; only the other three. x3

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Daesiy In reply to shakoa-pie [2011-10-29 05:13:29 +0000 UTC]

I used a 3 pixel brish with this tutorial, which doesn't really vary in line width. That's why it's smooth.

Quick question! I'm starting to get into this whole fan-art business, and I was wondering... you use tablets for these rights? Like, those electronic ones you plug up to the computer? I'm trying to do quick smooth lines and it's almost impossible with a regular mouse. Or it could just be my silly untrained hand. XD

Daesiy In reply to Iguana23 [2010-09-11 05:37:12 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I use a tablet. :3

You don't have to get a fancy one, though. Mine's old and falling apart but I luv it. xD
