This is for my boyfriend, Bryan. It's his kitten Spark, who was hit by a car and killed a couple of years ago. It happened before I met Bryan, so I never knew Spark, but I know that he meant a great deal to Bryan. Bryan's out of town, so I used the opportunity to dig up a few photos and do this for him.He hasn't seen it yet, so I want to know if there's anything else I can do to improve this picture. I've spent a good several hours on it, and I must admit, I'm quite proud of it, especially the face. Anyway, the markings are how they are because it's a portrait, but if there's anything else that anyone has any suggestions for, please let me know. I want to have this finished before Bryan comes back into town on Sunday night. Thanks so much!

i had a kitten named sparkS who looked exactly like this - and who also was run over by a car.. about a year ago

Superb. The strength of the fur texture makes the entire thing. You could probably have had almost everything else off and it would still have been adorable. Wonderful picture, and I too hope he liked it.

I also found the eyes to grey (to bright is a better word), maybe a little more dark over there could make them look deeper, but a great image, no doubt about that!

The only photos that I had for reference were taken with a flash, so it made it very hard to tell what color his eyes really were. I had the pupils darker at one point, but I wasn't satisfied with it.

THAT'S SO ADORABLE!! the fur looks so real!! maybe some sort of background like a pillow or something but still it's beautiful and sweet.

I thought about adding something in the background. Originally the kitten was sitting in a crumpled blanket, but it didn't look right so I took it out. I think that, for the sake of making the kitten the absolute center of attention, I'm going to leave the background as simple as it is. Thanks very much for the tip though! I appreciate it.

Yeah, the photo that I used as a reference was a tiny bit grainy, plus the flash was really strong so it made the eyes look funny. I went ahead and 'despeckled' the eyes a bit. Thanks very much for the help!
