Description
Everyone is making Trixie art and I'm not going to be an exception. This is my artistic impression of the amulet taking control when she put it on. It may have turned out a bit creepier than I'd anticipated. Especially the black eye seems unsettlingβit started as a random experiment and stuck because I liked the effect.The style follows pretty much my standard painting techniques. Single layer, simple square brush, and endless polishing. Might go as far as calling this my "main" or "default" painting style... But then again there's no telling what I'll do next.

Edit: Thanks to ~Sugarcube-Owl for pointing out the lack of tail in the first version. Made the image slightly wider too, to better balance image with the added tail.

I definitely like the eyes. It gives the the impression that her soul is unable to overcome the power of the amulet.

Artistically speaking, I think that's really pretty cool! You definitely managed to make the effect rather sinister and lend the whole image a sense of foreboding and doom. Whatever happened previously, Trixie obviously just made a grave decision.
At the same time, I'm not sure it actually fits with my own understanding of the amulet's influence. Obviously it wasn't elaborated on a lot in the episode, but the impression I got was that it wasn't an evil artifact per se; it merely had a corrupting influence that took root over time and that took a very strong mind to resist, one that Trixie obviously doesn't have. In other words, it was a dangerous tool that was wielded by hooves not capable of doing so safely - and the rest, as they say is history. Trixie bit off more than she could chew, and she was lucky that Twilight managed to save her in the end.
But the image is still great.

Woah. The light from her eyes and mouth reminds me of a certain fanfic. It didn't have Trixie in it, but somepony did give off a light show like this.

I forgot her horn earlier while painting. I really should make a checklist of all these damn body parts I have to keep track of.
Anyway, thanks for pointing that out, I'll consider for a bit If I'm going to make a revised version.

That too, though they're generally not that noticeable. My main concern is that the addition of a tail may muck up the composition of the piece. I'll just give it a try and hope for the best.
