Kaorin have a huge crush for Sakaki. Not exactly a lesbian thing but that admiration can look like love or somenthing (Another reference is Sayoran Lee whit Yukito in Sakura Card captor) Sakaki maybe knows that but she is to quiet and shy to say somenthing about it.

It is very much play it how you feel. It seems very much like a Crush but I never reall had a Japanese opinion on it, and since it set in Japan. Perhaps their might be a cultural thing we are not getting.
