Its not a big enhancement then. Better getting some extension rings!
One question about that: Why do people buy super expensive extension rings if the only difference to a cheap one is the AF capability? I mean, is it actually useful to have AF while shooting @2x, 3x, ... ?

Autofocus and macro are mutually exclusive, and peeps are paying a lot of money for just an air gap

Yea, it seem so! But I found out that its not only the Autofocus that is missing on those cheap rings. Since they dont have any electronics at all, they dont allow TTL readings, aperture control, ... so, I dont see the use of such a thing.
The lens will be stuck at full aperture or am I missing something here? It seem like I really need to invest some money on an AIR GAP after all?!
