Description
This is an illustration of a superhero created by my old roommate's young son: JetStar. She asked me if I could do a comic-style drawing of the character, based on a homemade halloween costume they made for him, including an "Iron Giant" style papier mache helmet.
They'll use this for his JetStar-themed birthday party invitations, and I think also the cake. Neat!

I think the kid's head will probably explode. You create the coolest gifts.

Very cool! I like the Ultraman-esque helmet and the overall fun feel of the costume.

Thanks! I tried to make it kind of light & fun, since it's gonna go on a small child's birthday invitations.

Wonderful piece. It looks so fun. It seems to be a mix of Japanese and silver age comics. I guess it is the Iron Giant like helmet that makes me think that way.

Thanks! The photo of the real-life papier mache helmet made me think more of Ultraman (more Japanese influence!) but they wanted a more clunky, Iron Giant type deal, so I split the difference.

It is really cool. The it reminds me of Starman and Jet Jaguar. Cool stuff.
