"You know that, don't you?"

This first bit has little to do with the art. It is more of a sob, whiny, griping, Boo-Hoo sad tale about the creation of this piece. Feel free to skip ahead to my fan-boying write up below
So, there is a bit of an unhappy saga that happened with this piece. I dunno about you, but when I am working on a drawing I have one file that I am working on and I save all the time! Like, after every few brush strokes I instinctively hit Control+S. Well, this backfired a bit on me the other day. I was just about done coloring Sonar Clione (I was putting her dress pattern in place) when I did my instinctive Control+S. Well, wouldn't you know it, we lost power in the middle of saving. No worries right? Wrong. I lost all of it. The file became corrupt and all I had left was the sketch of Sonar. No Hercules, no background. All gone.

So, I tried a variety of things (PSD recovery tools, adobe fireworks, other boxes that have photoshop, x86 photoshop etc). Nothing work. I was going to have to redrawn, re-ink, re-everything this picture. That said, I decided to try One. More. Thing.

Paint Tool Sai

I don't really use Sai (doesn't suit me) but lemme tell you, it saved my bacon this time. On a hail Mary I tried it in Sai and it opened! Everything I did on Sonar was gone (lines, colors, etc) but the BG and Hercules remained (). So, I had to re-ink and color everything but it saved me a ton of time. Sai recovered about 80% of my work.

The moral? If you ever get a corrupt PSD, try opening it with Sai (or sending it to someone who has Sai), it might just save you a ton of work

OMG Yumekui Merry ! <3 I love love love this manga. The anime completely devours the story and ruins it but I don't care. It is such a good action and comedy manga. There is a twang of romance but almost every story has it's level of romance now-a-days. The characters are all so lovely. I jokingly say, "Disgaea called, it wants it's character designs back." I definitely based my tumblr theme on Yumekui Merry

This is Sonar Clione and Pharos Hercules. I was trying to depict his control over her but making him a symbolic puppeteer for her. She helps him find the dream demons because he forces her to using a certain scientific type of black mailing. Due to this, she isn't really free to do what she wants. Though she does try. The scene is suppose to be on her stage and the "You know that, don't you" is kind of her catch phrase. I like how I can use media in a comment but not my deviation description
