Todd was helpless now, the sheer need overwhelming him. His fist gathered Mary's ponytail into a tight tug. The cloud continued to fog her mind, making her oblivious to the sensation. He slid the scissors close to the base of her tail, and began to squeeze. The sound of the slicing metal, the crunch of sheared hair aroused a rising sense of triumph in the presence that held them bound.

The deed took almost a full two minutes. Mary's thick mass of soft redness almost seemed to be resisting, but was no match for the blades. The elation he felt from the being who was at once so far away and yet close enough to whisper into his mind was palpable. Todd was powerless to resist the next command issued to him: deliver the treasure he had procured. He didn't know who needed this hair, or why, but as quickly as the questions formed in his mind, they were replaced with the need to obey. He quietly slid out of his chair, ponytail in hand, and slipped out of the dark classroom unnoticed.

As the fog of confusion left the room, one by one the students looked around, hoping nobody saw them drift off. As eyes fell on Mary, mouths opened in gasps of shock, but not before Mary herself felt the sudden lightness on her scalp. She lifted her hand to her head, and a shiver ran down her spine...
