This is a really cool picture. I have this picture in the favs a long time ago and now when I "rediscover it" i was wondering two things that i want to ask you:
1: Could I use this picture (with the right CC license) in my blog to tell a story about that invented by me? or that would be broken the license ND??
2: If you don't accept 1, there is no problem. Only know if this creature have some story behind that you can explain to me or what do think that this is? I'm interested in that (and not for publishing just for knowing).

Awesome. Wonderful job on the anatomy, textures, and forms. The alien's dress and accessories are successful as well; nice job coming up with a consistent design motif for those. Like Tom mentioned, the head design suggests both flowers and headdresses, and I'll also say that it reminds me of of a bat's nose and ears.
The only thing I'm not crazy about is the rendering of the energy fields on this guy's weapon/tool.

Thanks! I did try to reuse similar shapes (Cresent-y type ones) in order to give the armor some type of consistency.
With regard to the energy weapon...yeah, I wasn't quite sure which direction I wanted to take it...

The muted colour palette you used for this gives a great feeling to it, and the weapon he is holding just looks amazing

Whoa, really nice...The head, um, acoutrements remind me of a cross between an orchid blossom and a pharaoh's crown. Great texturing and modelling of the forms, per usual. Way to end the year on a high note! Hope to see much more in 2010.
