I like how they are twins, wearing the same style, have the same hair color yet there is a clear distinction between the two.

Well, I don't really can give good tips 'cuz I don't really understand as well. But, for the beginning, you need to draw what you interested in (like drawing styles you like, or maybe fanarts. Doesn't matter if you tried to copy the drawing styles, as long as you don't trace them
I think that is the usual way to evolve for self-taught artist like us. (Oh, and excuse me for my bad English)
