Description Hey guys, I thought I'd show you how I sometimes take a pass at creating new weapons to draw. Here I've taken a photo of several real guns. I simply chop them up into pieces, copy and paste, stretch and distort until I find a good composition. Then I draw it off to the side. It always helps to find something believable and familiar to base you idea on. It will really lend credibility to the functionality of the concept. These in particular were used to give my team some ideas for the weaponry of the lizard men for ThunderCats.

As creative as this seems there are several problems with the above ideas:
1. Having more than one barrel on an automatic or semi-automatic small arms weapon is both excessively expensive and makes the weapon necessarily heavier. Additionally, it really does not really increase accuracy nor rate of fire all that much.
2. Weapons that have too much protrusion and sharp points will catch on gear as well as pose potential hazards in combat handling.
3. Do I have to mention the problem with having FOUR triggers near the same grip?

I am digging that one with 4 triggers as if it has 5 (or more) different functional shots.

it works well, but some pieces are stretched a bit too much IMHO. Have you given Pimp My Gun a try?

This stage is for reference only, not a finished product. The goal is to create an interesting silhouette and give reference of detail that can be implemented into the final concept.

yes, I read that in the description. I suggest PMG as an alternative tool to do that.
