One artist to another, Id like to know what mental restrictions did your give yourself. What were your self imposed rules?

Did you count the number of colors you limited yourself to? Or was the rule about 2 colors (for contrast) per object/plane.

Great work. Never stop creating!

That's the beautiful thing, I have no expectations whatsoever. Without expectations, there are no mistakes. When your 3 out the fear of the critique or making mistakes, it's liberating.
I start with just throwing splashes of color, Gradients. Then I let the palate put me in a place, I just feel.
From there I start thinking about the environment, it's materials or elements.
After that, I start thinking of ways to achieve depth of field.Natural compositions that fight fill out the frame. How Is it going to guide the viewers eye across the canvas.
That's when I start Blocking and shapes and creating layers for depth. With a few opacity shifts, You can really start getting a sense of atmosphere perspective. These layers also help to quickly mask sections for later lighting and Painting textures.
Funny note here, I'm actually pretty color blind. It made me Fear using color. That's why I drew and black-and-white in comic books for years. I just got to that point where I had to just give it a shot. This series of these paintings are the subject of that experiment.I've never just try to throw down in color like this.
If you ever need a good reference, Check out complimentary color swatches. It's a good place to start. But I've tried just throwing colors together, Then see where it goes. This is where the time restriction prevents me from caring too much. Nothing is precious.
Just about near the end, this is where I start looking At my stroke technique.Because I was just using basic brushes,I wanted to see what kind Of patterns or shapes I could make. Speed variation, Drag and pressure.
Lastly, I drop on lighting overlayTo unify all the Layers.
That's pretty much my process. I'm probly gonna cut paste this in case anyone else asks haha!

Have fun creating!

This is really nice, I love landscape drawings. One, because they're awesome. And two, because I suck at them.😂
