Forgive me if I'm wrong, but aren't GTK3 themes written in css? Because I can't get the theme to work with my gnome3 apps. Using gnome-shell.

Have you used gnome-tweak-tool to change the theme? Also, try restarting the shell.

On ubuntu natty with nautilus-elementary from the natty ppa, the status bar is unaffected by your themes stylesheet.

First of all, great theme. Been using it a long time. But i have a problem. I reinstalled ubuntu 10.4. Installed Elementary through the PPA. But when i select it, my wireless applet disappears and im offline. Also some of the icons have red x's in them. Any idea how to fix this. Been looking all day. I can use elementary theme, but i have to choose different icons. Then it works. Strange
Any ideas???
Thanks in advance

I've noticed a bug with this theme regarding the tabs in some programs, such as system monitor, they get cut off at the top:

This may have to do with your global menu or the window border you're using. It works fine with a vanilla install.

It seems to me like Unico Engine has already been releases since it already is in the Oneiric repositories.
Are you already working on the port to this engine?

There are still a huge amount of things not working.
I'll stick with Zukitwo for now, but I'll keep looking at your progress

Thats wonderfull to hear. For the time being I'm helping my self get along with this piece of hacked, permanently WIP piece of interface, wich is basically based on your (DanRabbit's) work, and adwaita, and the GTk-Reference and all the others I got codesnippets and info from:

You can download the bits I have from here:
Download: [link]
To be honest, I have no clue what dependencies are required for all this to work as it is a simple trial-and-error-result. But on a new natty install, with just medibuntu, gnome3-team and elementaryart ppa's added, it works for me and gives a relatively elementary-ish look with matching gtk2 and 3 themes. (see screenshot: update-manager, firefox vs nautilus and tweak-tool).
Am looking forward to the real thing.

I'm using natty with classic desktop. elementartart ppa 404's, elementarydesktop only has icon theme, and the zip from this site gives me a checkdir error when I try and extract it.
Is there any freakin way I can get this theme?

Do you plan on adding support for the panel at least?
Although the window controls in the Unity Panel don't yet seem themeable, the panel itself can be themed. (Not quite sure how, the current Equinox themes were recently tweaked to support it.)
-Missed his sexy dark panel.-

DanRabbit In reply to DavidRaid [2011-06-04 17:55:59 +0000 UTC]
Nope, I'm trying to avoid any custom styling at all. I'll probably add a couple different types of toolbar and buttons styles to my GTK3 theme, but it'll be up the apps to implement them. I'm putting my concentration into Pantheon and elementary.

GNOME Shell is unsupported. GTK3 will be supported with the next release. There was a change in GTK3 that broke compatibility with Murrine.

please, for those not too familiar with repositories, add a line about using the lucid ppa and not the natty-one (which apt tries to get its packages from if you use add-apt-rep)
btw: awesome theme!

hi dan, is there something wrong with the ppa's?
this one doesn't work
and the elementary-desktop ppa, from which I installed the icon theme, doesn't have anything called elementary-theme or egtk or whatever.
I just made a natty clean install and I lost my only good theme!

Is there a way to turn the panel and the right-click menu back to gray? (And to switch the text color to black?)
I'm looking through the .gtkrc right now, but since I have not the first idea about themes, I'm probably missing something, any help would be vastly appreciated.

DanRabbit In reply to brishu [2011-06-23 17:39:26 +0000 UTC]
in the latest revisions, panel theming has been dropped completely (since wingpanel provides its own theme). If you have an older revision you can scroll to the bottom an change the include line to "panel-dark" to "panel" but that won't work in future releases.
