Description
Lt. Ever Seiyama models nearly all of the Macross flight suit color combos I’ll be using. The first four are the canonical Macross colors, from there every group of three is a team with its own color scheme. Only half of my pilots will be female, it was simply convenient for her to model them for my reference. Her own suits are the original white and red, later upgraded to dk. gray/lt. gray/tan stripe.Built the suits in 3ds max, wrinkle morphs turned off; adapted some gloves by wusamah. The only thing I’ll miss about rendering this in Poser is its ability to make a procedural Gore-Tex shader for the suits.
Sorry for the browser-unfriendly horizontal format. dA seems to randomly allow it to be viewed full sized, or not.

Just to be clear, I don't know if I'll be able to do it. I just always feel like there should be a way to make clothes work like _clothes.

And 3ds max procedural shaders have possibilities, but I'm still learning them after all these years. And I'm still confounded by max's recent addition of an optional node-based shader system. But it will be fun to figure it all out.
You probably could figure out a way to build a dynamic suit like this, but I just didn't want to deal with it in the end. I just made it dense enough to sculpt good wrinkles into it. Still planning on making their regular military uniforms about 1/3 dynamic, though.

Oh, I so know what you mean about the procedural shaders. I love working with Cycles, really liked what little I've done in Luxrender (with LuxBlend25), but still haven't figured out the scales and parameters of the procedural textures in Blender. In some cases I don't even know what pattern they make. I'm sure both of us will make sense of the new procedural textures soon.
I like all of the colors for this out fit. And the harness is cool. I keep feeling like it must be possible to make a dynamic suit like this. I'll have to try at some point.
