Well before all you hardcore fans start yelling at me! I based the colors from the characters IN THE MOVIES!!!! I have NOT read the books, thus not care if there are wrong colors, or if Ron doesn't have freckles. Frankly to tell you truth... I DO NOT LIKE HIM WITH FRECKLES, I like the movie version better. So, please do not bash on this subjects.So now to the description:
I don't know how many of you guys know who Mike Wieringo was, I frankly didn't know him that well nor his work, I actually found his work here and added him to my watch list days before his death, after that I found out, he was one of the top artist up there in the comic book world, and all his work and everything, one of my favorite comic book characters was actually his creation, sadly that character is also dead.
Well after that I knew I wanted to color some of his great work to honor his death and everything, but... I just couldn't decide which awesome lines to color, nor had the time. So now I took the time and decided to get a not so easy lineart to color.
I was going to ink it, but... I think it wasn't appropriate, so I just darken the lines, and erase only the one that were in the way, which wasn't that much, maybe two or three counted.
If you see have seen my art, you know I stray away from background and scenery, cause they are just hard to do... in fact I think I've only made two or three only. The majority of the time spent here was in the shadows and the background.
Hope you all like it, I know I loved coloring it, it was a great adventure, and experience.
Colors inspired the movies.
In honor of Mike Wieringo, may he rest in peace, and like what I did up there in Heaven!

That explains why you didn't say anything about my screenname... ah well. The Hitchhiker's Guide is probably one of the best scifi comedy book series (or radio) ever.

I liked the movie, it's just I'm not that good of a reader, I start reading but my mind starts to wander off, and I get lost reading, while my mind is making up adventures and whatnot!

Ouch. Don't you know that the one thing you don't say to a Hitchhiker's guide fan is that you liked the MOVIE but can't read the book???
heh heh. Trust me, this fivebook trilogy is a breeze. Cleverly written. The movie is nothing.

Oh I believe I know that can be said to ANY "name title here" book fan about said movie made based on the books. Just like "Harry Potter" or "The Time Traveler's Wife"! hehehe like I said, it's not the books or anything, it's me and my over active mind & imagination, I may start to read a book but halfway I would start making up the stories in my mind and had forgotten about the book!
Who know maybe I'll read it in the future (that's what I've been saying about Harry Potter for years) just like Jule Verne's books!

That Time Traveler's Wife was terrible! I can hardly imagine the book to be any better... It sounds like it was made by a horny someone who wanted a guy to um... stalk or stalke her or something...
Making up the story is half the fun for Hitchhiker's. Douglas Adams is a genius, and he started it all with a simple radio show. maybe you should get that instead of the book.
I honestly don't know which i like better--harry potter or Hitchhiker's... Harry Potter came first in my life, and i won't forget its genius... But Hitchiker's has this... Mrh.

haaaaaaaaaahahahahahahaha OMG... I am NOT alone when I saw that scene with the protagonist and the little girl hahaha I was actually thinking... "wait, doesn't anybody care this little girl is hanging with a pedophile?' hahahahahhah
but my sister actually read the book and she said the movie sucks, the book has more development and actually ends different (he still dies, but the last scene is when she's old and dying (wife), he goes to visit her before she dies of old age).
hehehe I'm just too easily distracting to read books man... I sometimes can't even read "comic books" without starting to think other things or making up stories that are not there hehehe.

Nyah... to not being able toread. though honestly, i know the feeling recently. I haven't been able to be satisfied (or even finish) about the end of a book since Harry Potter 7. (Anything I have read and liked I probably read before HP.)
I need to get back into reading...

haha true, but to tell you the truth I prefer the paper media better than online. Paper I know when I'm finishing, I know how much is left. Digitally, I can't see or estimate how much pages left.

Photoshop all the way! jejeje Cuando utilizo lineas de otras personas, solo uso photoshop. Con el conocimiento que tengo de dibujo tradicional y mi conocimiento de fotografias, los mezclo y basicamente hago todo esto!
Cuando yo hago las lineas, utilizo Illustrator para hacer las lineas y despues paso a Photoshop para pintar! Aunque tambien puedo hacer las lienas en Photoshop, pero Illustrator es mas facil, pq algun error puedo mover las lineas sin borrarlas!
Es facil, es cuestion de convertir tus conociemiento a digital!

Es bien facil no nada del otro mundo... es que yo tambien como se dibujar y pintar con lapizes y esas cosas.
Y como yo aprendi de fotografia en 35mm, a revelar rollos y arreglar fotos, pues... se me hace facil convinar los conocimientos... pero como dije no es nada del otro mundo...
es mas una vez y empiezas ves que es algo BIEN logico!

Pues nose... ya que yo no se de artes graficas, lo mios es edicion de video, solo que dibujo, fotografia y pinto de hobby.
Muchos usan Photoshop e Illustrator... pero hay un millon de diferentes programas, para exagerar. Muchos son lo mismo, lo unico que la competencia del otro y muchos sitios exigen un programa y otros sitios otro. (es uno de mis problemas en edicion, yo se editar en FINAL CUT, y muchos sitios piden PREMIER)
Pero para arquitectura, he escuchado mucho de 3dMax (creo que se llama), creo que ese es el que tu mas debes buscar, si no Photoshop e Illustrator creo que tambien son buenos programas!

Yeah... I found out his comic book character that he created was from DC Comics. Bart Allen (a.k.a. "Impulse", "Kid Flash" and the third "Flash". His character I think was killed in the comics, a year or so before Mike's death (not sure, could be months).
I knew since I saw the wands, I wanted to give the glow effect on them, the windows glow was a last second thing, I had even exported the JPG and then I just decided to do a quick revision and add them. I was going to darken the characters also, made the picture more dark, but then... I just decided not to do it! Although I can play with it a little bit later, see how it would have turned out.

yeah... sometimes going back to your roots is kind of good in some ways. I think I'll do it, for my personal reasons much later (meaning: I won't post anything, in fact I'll not even save it)

The glow was actually something I though of doing since the beginning! I was going to darken them more, but... it just didn't feel like I should have done it. Maybe doing it would have been better who knows?!
