I always felt The Elenium was a more, how do I put it, grown up (?) Belgariad. Maybe that's not the right term-they're both amazing, but they share many themes and it seems that The Elenium develops its themes a little more? Eh, forget it, whatever I mean, this is really cool.

Is that the sapphire rose and orb of aldur? how lovely! It is nearly impossible to see how similar the two series are. I have yet to decide which is my favorite... probably the belgariad/malloreon but that is a tough call.

I liked Belgariad best when i was younger, but i reckon the Sparhawk books are easier to just sit down and enjoy
