Hi, commenting for .
It's very interesting to look at. (I can't tell for certain what it's supposed to be, so I'll just refer to it as a helmet - feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.) You used a very beautiful shade of blue here, I really like that. It's a nice contrast to the dark background and the helmet, so it's quite an eye-catcher.
I also love the composition. The little swirls and rays around the circle make the picture look nice and interesting. The whole thing looks like some kind of crest or emblem. What bothers me a bit are the right and the left edges. Here it looks like a small part of the picture has been cut of and I think it would look prettier otherwise.
Other than that, I also have to compliment you on your use of textures. Without them, this piece would probably look a bit too plain. They are easy on the eye, not too distracting and give it a painted look. The slight irregularities, like the jagged edges of the circle and other small "imperfections" have a similar effect - it looks simply good. One aspect that needs some improvement in my opinion, is - ironically - the edges. It's less noticable from afar (though it still can be seen), but once you zoom further in, it becomes apparent that the edges consist in large parts of very hard pixels. This is quite distracting and causes some disharmony with the textures. I don't know which software you use, so I can't give very specific advice, since the methods you can use vary from software to software. However, one thing that should always be possible is to take a softer brush and gently paint over the areas where pixels are too dominant. The blur tool is also an option, but I think that would mean more work since you'd have to pay a lot of attention so it won't become too blurry.
I hope this was helpful to you. Have a nice day.

Hey there! Thanks for taking the time to give a comment!
You are correct! It is a helmet. The helmet is from a fictional character called the Nightwatcher, who is a vigilante in New York who fights criminals. The Nightwatcher is portrayed by a character called Raphael, from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles universe (honestly, I don't know if you're a big fan of it or not).
I appreciate your compliments of my artwork! The only explanation I can think of is the size, you know, about the pixels. When you zoom in, it does look a bit pixely, and honeslty, I was shocked about the size. It was huge!
But anyways, I will take your advice and use that for my future projects! Thanks again for the advice and comment!

I see. I'm not too familiar with TMNT, so I didn't know that.
And I've encountered that dreaded size problem, too. Sometimes I finish a picture, pat myself on the shoulders for how neat and clean it looks from afar... then I zoom in and start cursing.
You're welcome. I'm glad I could help.

Yeah, whenever I want to post something, I'll double check to make sure that the quality is good.

Hi ! I'm from ProjectComment !
So hmm, I'll try my best but I have to say that I can't really understand what is on your artwork (perhaps it's because of my own really bad luminosity here). So, I'm sorry if I don't guess it right.
First of all I find it really cool to draw something for a fanfiction, I really love to write myself and draw !
I like the color you used, maybe it's because it's my favorite kind of blue ahah. I wonder if it's an helmet in the center ? I was wondering too if it was some chains or electricity on each side ? I find it really cool, but I think perhaps it could be defined even more. It a bit plain because you (generic) don't have a lot of complexity with contrast. It's really really dark, I think some blue touch on the helmet would be so cool and help seeing it more. I wonder if it's some kind of stone behind the helmet ? Like a book with a big stone on the center, it would be so cool !
I like the effect you've done on the background, but it's a bid sad that we can't really see it more. I feel that it's a bit too much pixelated, maybe it needs a bit of definition or it's a style you wanted to go.
So yes, a piece that can be really interesting, but I think you can maybe work more on the contrast (helping in detaching more the helmet and seeing more volume on it, maybe working a bit more on the lights and highlight with touch of blue etc, would help more in catching the eye), the contrast would help too with a work less darker, I think that for the background it can be nice but we loose too much details (and the humain eye loves to wander everywhere ahah). Oh and the metal texture needs more lights because it's really shiny, even when it's dark. So as I said ahah, I think it can be promising, keep on the good work ! Β

Hello! Thank you for the comment!
I do love to draw artwork for my fanfictions, and I agree, it is really cool! And you are correct; it is a helmet. The hemlet is from a fictional character called the Nightwatcher from the TMNT universe (I don't know if you're a big fan of it or not).
And behind it (the blue circle), to be honest, I wasn't sure at the time I was making this. Originally, it was supposed to be an item called the Ambemerald (yeah, terrible name XD) and the colours would have been green-gold, but I accidentally used blue, and you know what? I liked the blue, so I just went with it. Maybe it's like some sort of moon? I dunno.
I can understand where you're coming from about the detail. I can only assume why it's pixelated is because of the size. To be honest, I wasn't expecting it to be that big when I zoomed in, so maybe that's the problem.
Anyways, I really appreciate you advice and hope to continue making artwork like this, but better! Again, thank you for the comment!

Hi ! Oh, it did remind me something, and it was the same thing for your icon ahah know I understand better ahah. I remember I used to watch the anime when I was a child and really liked it, I played the game on the nes too ahah (good or bad memories hmmm), sadly I don't have a lot of memories about what did happens with who and why >_<'
ahha, I like to call that "an happy fortuity"when something like that happens to me haha, when you don't really know what to do and when with "messing" around you find something and you're like "oh, why not?". I don't remember from who it was and how exactly it goes but : "It's with mistakes that we create", or something like that ahha I like that quote.
I often had these kind of problems with when I scanned traditional drawing. The quality is never there, and that's why I prefer to take a picture of my work. You have, of course, to do some change of setting in photoshop but it works better for me. But well, maybe it was just because if was really uncomfortable with my scanner and his really low dpi haha
Ah ! You're welcome, I'm glad if I could help you in any way ! Β

Wow, that's cool!
It is annoying when you forget something from the past. And I love the quote you said. It does make sense.
Well, I do hope to try to make better quality artwork, but I guess I'll have to stick with what I got for now.

Hello! I am here frim And I am going to give some input and advice on your work here.
I am going to go over the good, what needs work, and how to go about working on it.Β
Good:
I really like the colors and the style you used here. The blue on the piece looks like it is glowing and the background looks interesting as well. The jagged yet pleated look catches the viewers eye and draws them to the center of the piece. It looks like an ancient design in some aspects with the blue markings, and I like that. Β You have the helmet's general shape down too and the plates and bends look like they are on the right places.
What needs work:
The helmet is really hard to discern form the background and it is really hard to see the detailing even when zooming in. Β Some if the colors used here muddled together and end up loosing the images in the picture. The helmet it;s self could be more defined and the image over all has a grainy affect, like pixel art. I am not sure if that is intentional or the result of your art program Β but I feel the need to point it out.
Advice:
What I suggest is you go about defining the helmet with more added shades of lighter and medium grays over the darker base color. That should give it some definition, shading, and still give it a dull shine too. Do this and your helmet will look clearer and sharper. It would also add a cooler look if you add some of the blue at a lesser opacity to the sides of the helmet exposed to the blue as well. The grainy pixel look may be an artistic choice but that is up to you.Β
But over all it is a good piece that needs some work. It is a striking image that draws attention, and it has a lot of potential. Keep up the good work.

Hey there! Thanks for the comment!
As I was working on the artwork at the time, I thought it was fine, but also, I was pretty new at doing stuff like this. I understand that the helmet can be hard to see, but again, when I was working on it, I could see it, and I thought everyone else could see it too.
I appreciate your useful advice. Maybe when I'm not too busy, I might update the artwork, but I have other projects to work on. Again, thanks for the advice and commenting!

I'm sorry but have no idea what is going on in this picture.
Its what to dark to make out any details and makes it look flat.
The composition is dead center, making what's going on it feel staged.
On the plus side it has a nice color scheme, how about some more blue light on the subject matter?Β
(PS this is forΒ ProjectComment ) :3

Thanks for the comment.
It's just a poster/cover for my fanfiction. I would have come up with something better, but at that time, I guess I wasn't that creative. At least you like the color scheme, which is something.

Thanks! In a way, yes. I have a friend who is a professional artist. I'd tell my friend what I want my picture to look like. Sometimes he'd ask me to do a basic sketch so he can get the idea. Then he'd draw it, scan it to the computer, then do some digital painting.
He's mostly responsible for my other artwork, so be sure to check it out.
I created a group called FILWtN, which is based on the story I'm woΕking on. If you want to be a part of the story and have your OC in it, then let me know and sign up. I'm still open for people who want to join in. If you do join, then it'll be great to have you.
