So as many people know, Metroid is based on the Alien franchise. Can you believe that I just barely saw those films last year (only the first three, and I believe only the first two are the oneβs to watch). Anyway, they both take the viewer to places that explore our fear of being isolated and in constant danger from an unknown force. So I decided to use that as a base for this drawing. I first contemplated about having Samus in a confined area to give the iconic claustrophobic feeling of both the game and the movies (Metroid games/Alien movies). But instead settled on an open world that was isolated giving that same feeling of being alone. As for Samus Aran herself, I wanted her to be struggling in this piece. So I had her exploring the land and showing that even she gets exhausted and has to take breaks along the mission, but she is definitely not defeated.

Does anyone else think that the recent Alien Isolation Game, borrowed a LOT of plot points from Metroid Fusion?

Really? In what ways? I played Alien Isolation but not Metroid Fusion.

Well for starters; let's begin by putting it on the record that I KNOW the entire Metroid series is based off of the Alien Franchise. That being said; moving along.
Basically in both games; the strong independent female protagonist visits a Space-Station, orbiting around a large planet.
An Alien Parasite has gotten aboard the station and has been causing havoc to the point of tearing the station apart.
The protagonist is being stalked by the Alien, leading to several accidental run-ins, forcing the protagonist to hide and remain quiet until the monster leaves.
Part-way through the game, the Alien Parasite is removed from the station, when a section of the lab is separated from the main body and jettisoned away. While the protagonist seems safe from the monster momentarily, she soon learns that the creature - unfortunately - has multiplied, and instead of just one, there are actually SEVERAL of them running around the station. (and while that adds to the danger-factor, to me, it lessens the threat-value the original creature had.)
As part of security-measures, Androids meant to protect the people on-board, ends up attacking people, forcing the Protagonist to fight and destroy them.
The company that owns the space-station reveals that they intend to capture the parasites and use them for weapons - seeing their potential as lethal predators.
The Protagonist understands how dangerous that is as the company can't control the monsters, and would inevitably lead to disaster.
After several last-minute close-calls, the Protagonist makes it onto a ship so she can get-away, while the Space-Station falls out of orbit and crashes into the planet, destroying the infestation on board.
And that's all the reasons how Alien: Isolation borrowed Plot-Points from Metroid: Fusion. Pretty much just trade-out the Alien for the SA-X, and you've got the same story.

Woah, seeing two franchises that interrelated is pretty awesome and interesting.

Cool.Β I love Aliens
Metroid Other M borrows a lot from alien 3.Β It gets annoying since they turned Samus into an emotional woman.Β She's stronger than that.

not an emotional woman, a cry baby that loves to explain what just happend and cant do anything without Adam giving permission.... oh and how can w forget about THE BABYBABYBABYBABY MOTHER MOTHER DFO YOU GET IT THIS GFAME IS ABOUT MOTHERHOOD DO YOU GET IT?! GET IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!
After that i lost all respect for samus as a character, and Super Smash Wii U version of the Zero Suit Samus doesnt help.

Although Alien 3 wasn't bad, it definitely was the weakest of the three first movies. I'm glad that they plan to start over from the second one and give it a (hopefully) better continuation and ending to the saga.
And with that in mind, a new Metroid game will come out of it.

As for the game, it is just a thought (or would that be wishful thinking?)

Beautiful work! The background is awesome, I love that you made it with Alien in mind and the cool, dark colors that you used (also love that you included her wrecked ship as well, very nice touch! )
Samus looks great! I love how detailed her armor is and her hair is gorgeous! You did a fantastic job on this!

Thank you.
All the points I wanted people to notice seem to have come across to you, and that makes me really happy as an artist (I was hoping someone would point out the ship as well). ^.^
